Any info would be appreciated

I had tons of issues with a turbo timer. I was using the apexi clear plastic one. With a HKS harness. Everytime I would go to turn off the car it would cause all 3 acd lights to come on. After reading the code MUTIII it said open abs wire or short. But my abs light was not on. It took me a year of messing around to finally figure out it was the turbo timer causing the acd lights to come on. The acd computer looks for 5 volts from the abs system after you start the car then that voltage should drop down to 0.5 volts. So when I was turning the car off but it was still running it confused to acd computer and triggered the DTC. After taking off the turbo timer I have never had the 3 lights come on again and after exhaustive research I have learned that you really don't need one because our turbos are water cooled anyways. If you are going to boost it just take it easy for a couple minutes before you turn the car off and it will be fine. TT = waste of money. Sorry OP.

Sounds like you had a waste of a TT, sorry OP. I never had any issues with mine or my ACD lights. If you drive your card hard, a TT definately isn't a waste of money. Yes, technically if you are a super duper worry every time you drive driver and you are easy for a few minutes before cutoff you should be fine in theory, but . . . I don't have disposable money laying around to replace a turbo. Not sure how many people would want to risk it with such a cheap safety measure.

On top of the that, your information is only half true. The turbo's in these cars are both oil and water cooled. Oil is for the bearings and water for centerhousing. If you are skilled enough to just look at your vehicle, you should be able to find 4 lines, oil in/out and water in/out. Bing Bang Boom. You want to continue to run the car after running to avoid cooking the oil. By cutting the car off, you are stopping the pump/flow of oil and in the right circumstances allowing that oil to cook in the turbo coating your bearing and gradually decreasing the performance and life of the turbo. With most manufactured factory turbo vehicles, the manual even comes with specific turbo cooldown guidelines.

Both his question and your response do not belong in the FS section of this board which is why he didn't get a response and I only had to respond to your half-baked (^^) information, now go back to increasing your 28 post count and maybe try to get a sales rating while your at it instead of acting like that thing my wife uses in the shower and keep your opinions to opinion specific threads.

PS - PM's still work . . .
