FS 6-speed conversion
FS 6-speed conversion
I have everything you need to put a 6-speed tranny in your five-speed EVO. Here's the list:
1. T.R.E. rebuilt six-speed tranny
2. 6-speed shift assembly (shifter, cage, cables, and mounts)
3. Upper tranny mount
4. Center console cover
I'm selling the entire package for $3900, including shipping, a savings of $1000 if you bought the parts seperately.
Thanks for your interest.

You all should go to www.teamrip.com and look at the Evo section and the "6-speed" conversion before asking technical questions here. You don't need an ACD to run a 6-speed tranny. You bolt your stock transfer case to the 6 speed tranny and call it a day. This is a for sale section, not a tech section, if you have technical questions regarding this; post it up in the appropriate forum.

Steve,
I'm well aware of which forum I'm in. My questions are directly related to the "conversion kit" you are selling, and what exactly is included. I asked the question about the transfer case because I've been in touch with Jon at TRE in the past to discuss doing a conversion, and his advice was that it wasn't worth it because the 6 speed transfer case was $7K alone.
As one of the most serious people in doing this conversion, it doesn't seem wise of you to take this tone with me.
Best of luck with your sale.

He posted exactly what was included....
I don't see a TC or ACD ECU on that list...
And I'm not taking a tone... you seeded very much like you didn't know what was needed for this conversion, since this has been disgussed before on EvoM and it is pretty well known that a TC is not needed for this conversion. A 6-speed conversion is not an ACD conversion, plain and simple. Sorry if I offended you...

Sorry to create confusion everyone, but you don't need a special T case for the 6-speed. I changed back and forth between the 5 and 6 speed and the only stuff you need is what's for sale.
Thanks for your interest and yeah, the tranny's at Jon's place and he's far more an expert on this stuff than I am. BTW, if you're ever near Kalamazoo, MI, you should stop by his shop. It's very cool, in the basement of an old factory building. Those guys are complete gearheads and will make you dizzy talking about gear pitch, teeth size, etc etc. On the floor above him is a fabrication shop. It's the kinds of industrial type operation that you just don't see anymore. Oh and he's two block from a brewery.
