I have a 4G64 shortblock from a Galant. Not sure of year. It is a 7 bolt. I got it from a guy that strips wrecked cars. It looks like the timing belt broke. There are very slight nicks on the exh side of the pistons. The cyl walls look great, still cross hatched and no ridges. It turns smoothly. Deck looks straight/flat. I used a straight edge on it. It is ready for rebuild. The only thing I was going to re-use was the crank and block, but I have the misc pulley and brakets if you want them.
The head is an Evo 8 head. The guys I got it from, cross threaded #3 plug. Everything else is fine. I think he said he had 25K on the motor. I am repairing the threads now. I tapped out the threads and I'm using a insert. It will be sealed with ultra copper. The top side will be flared out, (it's also knurled), the bottom side will ne notched.
I did this same repair on my other head. I ran 30psi with no ill effects. I ran it hard for over 20K with no problems. The head only comes with valves installed (springs, retainers, etc) and cam caps and bolts.
I even have an extra valve cover I'll throw in. I will ship with the oil pan on, (the Galant pan).
It will go palletized via freight.
I would like $850 plus shipping. Shipping is usually $150-$350 depending how far you are. My zip is 85365 if you want to research it. It's also cheaper if you pick it up at the docks where you live.
I will seperate if I get a buyer for each item.

Lots of interest in head. No interest in the block.
I'm waiting a few days before I seperate the sale.
You could buy this set-up, build it and switch out with very little down time. That's what I was going to do as the EVO is daily driver.
