This is what I found the difference to be:
Turbo Timer Type-1 includes all of the Type-0 features, PLUS several measurement tools including a peek-hold speed warning display, a two-stage peak-hold engine RPM warning display, 0-400 meter acceleration time measurement and stopwatch features. Unique to the Type-1 Black is that its metering and displays are in SAE speed (MPH) and distance (0-60 foot, 0-1/8 mile, 0-1/4 mile) measurements.
