FS: CO Evo VIII Longblock

i have an 03 Evo 8 longblock. 61000 miles. it has 60% leakdown in 3rd cyl. due to what we suspect is a bad piston ring land, but other 3 cyl read 155psi across the board. Does not burn any oil and still pulls strong!

will include valve cover, stock cams, coils, ps pump, ac compressor, h2o pump, intake mani, throttle body, exhaust mani, oil pan and belts/pulleys. no turbo or manifold included. Mitsu timing belt replaced @ 57k. oil ALWAYS changed w/ Mobile 1 synth.

PLEASE READ the motor is still in the car. once payment is confirmed it will be pulled and shipped via freight right away(at buyers expense). i need to sell my current motor to finish my car. i am located in Highlands Ranch CO. i will accept paypal (+3%)

this is an excellent canidate for core swap or stroker rebuild. $2000 OBO.

and this is a LONGBLOCK...so a FULL motor sans the turbo for $2300 sounds like a pretty good deal then, or is it just me? DaveK makes a great point, "Core charge at evo shops is usually around $1400 for a head and $1800 for the block...except you get a motor that's in good running condition with many of the sensors."
i think everyone sees my point. again, if anyone feels this is TOO much, make me an offer.

thanks Richie!

Isn't it fairly common that #3 cylinders in the early 03's have low compression numbers?

well to my knowledge, i thought evo's get 175 about.

also does the motor come with the intake manfold? and TB?

just from the one problem the motor has it will have to be fixed for 100% performance. so there can be a easy 1000$.

also i have seen 100% fine motor go for 1500$ pick up.

just some of my 2 cents

from what i've seen yes, it is fairly common. its also the first cylinder to pop once you start to hit high hp #'s...but with that said, 60% leakdown is pretty low. once we performed a wet test compression came back up to just under 150psi.

if you look on some of the post i have done on some of the other threads on this forum for buying motors you will see them.
unfortunately when i tryed getting them they all said that they had a friend in need and would not let me get that one sick deal on the motors. which im now very unhappy sad about. but, hey you cant win them all.
since it has been almost a year for the car beening down and im ready to get back in the game very hard now after winter. i really trying to get this block/long block. so i can get going with the car build up.

anyhow thanks anyhow let me know what happens.

best luck to you all
