Yes, it did for about 30mins! Here is my response to another person who was interested in the pump: "I bought the OEM Mitsu pump brand new when I put my 2.1L motor in my car. I bolted it up to the side of the block only to find out it was not the correct water pump for that motor. It has been sitting on the floor in my garage for probably 6-8 months. I may still have the OEM gasket too. If I do, I'll give it to you at no cost. The pump does have a little surface rust in a couple of spots (not rotting!), just specs of brown on the surface, as well as being a little dirty from sitting around. I can assure you 100% though that the pump is brand new."

Not 100% sure on this, but I ran 29psi at one point for a long time with zero issues.
