To give you an idea of how much of an advantage the WHP numbers Vishnu put down on TT's dyno were significantly lower than EMS equipped cars. Now add the Buschur stage 4 package, a Magnus intake manifold, Curts driving and Davids tuning, this gives you 11.3 @ 122.

I'm amazed someone hasn't went for the 10's on the stock turbo with nitrous.
I want toadd to your good thoughts -

There are at least 9 Dyno Flash cars with just a reflash (on stock turbo) and most if not all of them on stock intake manifolds going in the 11's - one of them went 11.7

Thats through the stock air flow meter

Now a Turbo Tricks flash customer is going 11.8 something

So reflashes can go 11's

Then - logically - if you go to a AEM which has much greater performance potential through the elimination of the MAF and also get rid of the stock intake manifold - its easy to see where some extra power can be made

Finally - Add Mr. Brown who has been setting DSM records for years - INCLUDING fastest in the world without NOS

I saw this guy drive - he is one of the best ever

He did not win the DSM shootout this year on a stock turbo by accident

Great numbers. I just believe he is a great great driver and he had all the positive things on his side at this run, congrats.

Last time out had a few little leaks, wouldn't hold 20psi, with such a small turbo you can't have any leaks.
Light rotors and wheels=unsprung weight each pound times 7. How much lighter are the rotors and wheels. Also ported stock turbo is pretty subjective as to whether it is still considered a stock turbo. I guess a turbo upgrade can be subjectively considered a bolt-on also if you want to think of it like that. Regardless of the mods great stuff and you are a Guru when it comes to Getting the most out of a car at the dragstrip. I just hope most people on this forum realize that they are not going to see 11.3 at 122mph out of the stock turbo with a Buscher stage 4. Down here I have not seen one in the 11s but that is not to say it has not or will not happen. The norm w/o the Aem that I have seen is 12.3-12.5 at 110-114 mph.

On a pump gas setting - 12.3 - 12.5 and 110 - 114 is usual for the Buschur Stage 4 on SFAC or Reflash.

However - with race gas and a good tune - there are many examples in the 11's WITH the stock air intake manifold

Maybe on that side of the country? Over here, they were all running low 13s during the EVO vs. Subaru drag race this past weekend at Sacremento.

Its very difficult to draw accurate conclusions based upon the results at one event on one day

Driver skill and track conditions can make a huge difference in the results

At the Shootout on the east coast a few weeks ago the winning car was a stock turbo car (not Bushur stage 4 complete - BUT many Buschur parts) with the sock turbo and Dyno Flash which went 11.8

There are numerous examples of the Buschur Stage 4 AEM going into the 11's - starting with Tym from Buschur going 11.65 in the Buschur shop evo almost a year ago

Here is another - also with AEM https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=102596

Here is member 4rinturncoat who did the following "11.92 at 113.9 on Sept 29, all done on stock turbo Mail-in flash and no other tunning device (ie:SAFC,Utec)."

This guy went 12.2 with the mail in dyno flash with similar mods to stage 4
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...t=71294&page=1

Member fimotorsports went 11.7 with similar mods and head work on the mail in dyno flash - "11.7 @ 115, 1.5 60ft dynoflash, APS exhaust & SBCid3 @ 22 lbs, piper 265 cams, AMS fmic - stock clutch & turbo"

I dont have time to research further - but there are other examples

My point is - these are regular every day joes who drive their evos ever day - - going 11's

One would expect a respected top expert in this sport who is a naturally talented driver with years and years of experience in breaking 1/4 mile records with DSM 's to be going significantly faster

HHHHHHHHHHHHHere we go again little children, can't we just accept the mans post and stop getting all super technical= mph,60ft.. lbs.psi,kg, underwear size, color of lipstick. launch technique. shift patterns blah, blah, blah. Guess what? I also went 11.3 with my car and hardly anyone on this forum even knows it BIG DEAL, I dont have to brag and lie and even post it for that matter because I knew it would end up just like this one is headed. I have a BR500,AEM,big fmic,272's,big injectors, fidanza flywheel,RRE clutch, light rims, sticky tires and drove the hell out of the car and got thrown out of Island Dragway after my VERY FIRST pass ever with the car down the track.....WWWWWowww.
Most guys like us dont give a damn if you believe us or not, we're not into this hobby to have to SHOW you our timeslips, or prove anything with all the evidence in the world. Believe him or not, the bottom line is Curt Brown can drive his *** off, has a very capable setup to run the time he says he did, and all you little boys know how to do is wah,wah,wah..........Good Lord give it a break. Lets do it the old school way,run what you brung, bring some cash, line it up and shut up and get this girly talk over with.........Anyone want to try and line up next to him at the track rather than talk so much about what is so impossible about his car's setup.............Yea, figures!!!!!!Go Curt, U DA MAN!!!!!!!

We had an email server throw a connecting rod, I apologise if I missed yours. For future reference, essay-type questions can take awhile to answer due to my heavy testing/racing schedule with our EVOs, 33 days of trackside road course development so far in 2004. Good luck with your new suspension.
