Update:

It's been a little over a year since Project MJ was completed. During that time the car has responded well to it's new found power. There's been a few minor issues to deal with (leaking fuel filter line), but over all everything has gone as planned. I've also added a few new features like an Ethanol Content Analyzer stealthy installed inside the arm rest, and a few cosmetic changes in the engine-bay.

With all this power I realized that the next step was to address the the drivetrain components. I addressed a few of these items with the initial build (QM clutch, Bushwacker transmission, AWD drive shaft), but the rest of the drivetrain remained stock. In order to achieve my vision for this car, I had to take this next step. This was an essential part of the build which needed to be done in order for me to move on to build Part #3 which I will keep on the DL for now, but man I'm really excited about it . Now that this is done I can have piece of mind that I can throw anything at the car without sweating one bit.

Project MJ has flourished with the continued support of certain individuals. Many thanks to HGMS who continues to facilitated the build. My friend and lead tech Alain Alba has been responsible for every single process of this build. In fact, we teamed together to upgrade both our drivetrains (an Evo owner himself) at the same time. To eliminate any down time with his Evo, I let him utilize my spare Diff and TC while his components were sent to Shep. The process seemed long at times, but things worked out perfectly at the end, a true team effort for sure. Next is to put some miles on the car, change Diff and TC fluid, address a slight vibration issue with my front rotors, then its on to build Part #3 which all the parts (with the exception of one last item) are in my possesion and ready to be installed

Shep Rear Diff
Shep Stg 2 TC w/Wavetrac LSD
DriveShaft Shop OEM axles w/Race prep upgrade
Curt Brown ceramic wheel bearings

You can say that Jerry. The set-up I'm going with is how I always invisioned the car from the very begining. I may go Part #4 which will address some suspension modifications, but that will be it, I will be done!

Looks like a fun project. This will be something I'm going to do down the road...after I enjoy my build for a bit. Did you have any issues with your stock drivetrain at the power levels in your build thread?

Looks like a fun project. This will be something I'm going to do down the road...after I enjoy my build for a bit. Did you have any issues with your stock drivetrain at the power levels in your build thread?
Bryan, not at all. On both the 2.0 and 2.3 builds with the FP Black, no issues. Having an after market clutch and a built transmission I believe helped. However, taking the next step I knew I had to address the TC and rear diff. You have to once you reach that 600 plus power level.

^^^This is good to hear as I'll be around the 550hp range. I'm really thinking about going with the FP Black instead of the red I have, just to have room for error. You made some good power on that thing and the Red at 550hp will be close to maxed out...Hmm so many options.
