Talking SLVRNBLK's - Project MJ build - Part #3 "Turbo"

Update:

Last time I checked-in with Project MJ was last summer when I completed a drivetrain upgrade. Well, in that thread I eluded to another major upgrade for the car. The one modification we Evo owners are constantly dealing with is "what turbo" to get. From the get go I had a vision in place. It was not till I ran the gambit of turbos (stock, FP Green, FP Black JB, FP Black BB) that I finally decided on a turbo that would accomplish my goals. From the very beginning, I've sought out to build a fun street car. I think I made a good choice. This will be no surprise to anyone, this turbo has been around for awhile and it's what I envisioned the car to have many years ago. Without further ado, Project MJ now has an FP 35RHTA86 This was really a no brainier for me. It's the perfect turbo to compliment my set-up.

Once again Project MJ has flourished with the continued support of certain individuals. Many thanks to the whole gang at HGMS who continues to facilitated my builds. My friend and master tech Alain Alba has been with me from the very beginning (dating back to my black car) and is literally responsible for every single process of this build. Its' such a re-assuring feeling when you look in your engine-bay and every bolt is marked indicating it's been torqued to spec. Tom Swingler (TSCOMPTUNED) played a major role in this build as well. Tom has been there from the beginning and his knowledge and advice have been invaluable! Thank you all for your support!

There no way I can get anything past you guys. You will notice in the pictures below that not only did I do a turbo upgrade, but an engine re-build as well. Unfortunately I had a set-back with the previously built engine that I was very dissapointed with. Both parties settle the matter in a professional way. No ill feeling, no anamosity, nothing like that. It was my decision to go a different direction and I did. Yes, it was something I was not planning for, but these things are sometimes a blessing in disguise. With the new build I was able upgrade a lot more things and I am extremely happy with the current set-up. I will not get into details about what happened, the matter is over and I have moved on.

I've reached a point now where I'm just about DONE with the project. Next will be build Part #4 (final) which will address some suspension modifications.

Thanks for reading, here is a quick rundown of the upgraded parts:
TSCOMPTUNE 2.3L
Curt Brown Street/Race head - 625+ ARP studs
FP 35RHTA86 .82 A/R - Tial 44mm MVR wg
Shearer V-band manifold
BR V-band o2 housing
BR 3" V-band DP
GSC S3 Cams IN/EX

Here are a few pics, enjoy!

Hey! My SD intake didn't come with a carb sticker.

Beautiful car/build you have there. Tom just finished my tune this last Saturday and it was truly a pleasure working with him.

Yes I do. However, I do have one of my catch-can lines hooked up to it.
