Good info! IM going to install my flex fuel sensor after my regulator on the stud that sticks out on the firewall.
I plan to go from my Aeromotive reg to -6 then to -6 -3/8 to the sensor than 3/8 to -6 then to my stock fuel feed line as the return with the above fitting from extreme psi (6AN Male to M14x1.5 Female INVERTED FLARE) .

Only question i have now is what do i need to do to my hanger to get the oem fuel feed tube to go on the fuel return nipple at the hanger. Or will it just plug right in? I figured it’s a cheap upgrade of the fuel return line size without running new hose.

For the hard line, you will need the fitting I mentioned earlier. The OEM feed is 5/16" so you will have to change to AN or maybe get a custom line made. The OEM return is 1/4".

I know the line itself is 1/4th but the nipple on the hanger looks to be the same size as the feed. Or is the the one by the power harness the canister vent and the smaller is for the return?. I could be seeing things.

The one you are pointing to is the fitting that pulls fuel from the saddle tank... the return line is the smaller low pressure fitting without quick disconnect...

Not pretty but I found this after searching. You will have to use a short length of stock rubber return to clamp on the housing. Find the male side of the QD and use it between the lines.

Just wanted to add some pictures to a very good thread.

If you plan to use the stock output nozzle on the oem fuel pump housing for a single pump setup, but still want to upgrade your fuel lines, you need a 3/8" ID SAE to -6AN quick disconnect fitting and mate it to a 90 degree -6AN fitting like so. As you can see i'm using AQP socket less hoses for the end portion:

For that to connect to the fuel feed hard line (which goes all the way to the fuel rail) under the car, you will need a 5/16" ID SAE to -6AN quick disconnect fitting underneath the car. Here, I also chose to mate it to a 90 degree -6AN fitting right off the hard line to follow stock route configuration.

-6AN hose next to new fuel pump housing modified for Walbro 450LPH

Shows the difference in size

In the engine bay I used the STM fuel return kit and full FPR kit with an AMS fuel rail. That should cover increasing the diameter of the entire fuel system. I'm not too worried about the stock hard lines in the middle of the car because they actually flow more fuel than a rubber hose with the same I.D. due to reduced friction characteristics.

I also followed letsgetthisdone's advice on drilling out the stock siphon tube to 9/64"

Anyhow, I just thought I should bump/share this for anyone who might be interested in such a conversion.

Looks good! thanks for sharing! I should take some pics of my setup. I'm still pondering a way to use the factory feed line for the return line now that I have -6 from the hanger to the rail.

bump this up, can you guys link me to the exactly fittings I would need to run from the tank feed to the second LONG hard line under the car. I would skip the short hardline from the top of the tank to the bottom.

Thanks

How many line of -6 ptfe would I need to go from the pump to the rail.
I'm assuming 15ft would do the job...

15ft is more than enough. I ended up using maybe 3 ft to go from the fuel pump hanger to the main hardline, skipping the silly hardlines mounted on top of the tank.

11 feet should do it. MrFred should chime in this thread, as he's done this with his car (-6AN from pump assembly to rail).

I know stm sells their pump to rail kits at 15foot. I had plenty of extra.

You need the 3/8 not the 5/16
