Is it my imagination or is there lots of stories on new clutches blowing up on here, when my time cone to replace mine, I'll be youtubing DIY style and at least o know it will be my fault

Ah. I don't know anything about Comp clutches. I tried an Excedy ONCE and it blew up on me. So had you said, "Excedy"...

you wouldn't be able to get it into gear if this was the case.

Clutch wouldn't work and it wouldn't go into gear. Sounds like OP has no connection between the crank and input shaft.

Mine's going, but I don't know what's in it

It's a ***** if you're on your back, and I can't have the car off the road for more than a couple days.

I guess there has been a few bad batches of clutches from some of the majors in the last decade so, so my guess would be that. Hopefully they have figured it out.
