All 3 ACD Lights came on today--how long do I have?

Forum,

Today on my way to Maryland all 3 ACD lights came on. I pulled over cut off the car, freaked out, and cut it back on. All light off. I got on the highway and after accelerating they are all back on. I tried to grab the code off the ECU but it didn't show there. I did the research on the forum and learned a lot. I know that it could be the fuse on the positive terminal, air in the system, ABS wire, or the pump is on the way out.

I'm going to take her to the stearlership and get a diag.

My question is how bad is it to drive like this? Is the ACD just off and I will now have non-evo cornering abilities or is this something that needs to be addressed here and now.

That just means acd has a leak or needs to be rebleed. Have you redone your clutch or anything recently? Mine was on for 2 years before i finally got it to go off no damage was done. With that said you should be fine.

Not necessarily. When mine came on I had to get a new ACD pump. Luckily, I was able to get Mitsubishi to pay for the part (about $2500) and I just paid the $300 labor.

Yeah, all 3 ACD lights means it has thrown a code & the ACD ECU needs to be read to determine what the issue is

Damn that sucks, but working at a dealership in previous jobs thats what they do when they can't figure it out they just replace things. I am glad you got it fixed for only 300 bucks but usually that is what happens.

In order to pull that code I need to actually get behind the glove box and and access that ecu right? I saw a few diy on that but i only have a 1.3 universal flash cable from evoscan not the tactrix.

So now I have noticed a new and much more chilling symptom. There is now a high pitched mechanical whine coming from underneath the car. It literally started when I was at the light by my place. I got down and listened and it sounds like its coming from the rear diff.

Fast forward about 20 minutes, I went out there and started it up to try and get a video and the noise is gone. I'm thinking I need to go and get my tcase and diff oil changed? Maybe the drive I just took thinned what was left out? What are the chances of this being connected to the ACD lights. The connection may be paranoid on my end but I just got the wheels on her and now all of this.

The sound was similar to the fuel pump but much louder, coming from underneath the car (sounded loudest in the back), and was present at idle and all gears.

Hi, when I had the 3 ACD light that came up together I also had to have the pump replaced.
But I didn't have the sound you are describing... probably as already suggested you have a leak and the pump still working continues to pump trying to build up the needed pressure, which could be cheaper to fix.

I don't own an ACD equipped car but why not pull the ACD fuse since it isn't working anyways? See if that clears up the noise. Heres a thread that'll answer any questions about pulling the fuse: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...lp-needed.html

Good luck.
