Timing belt factory install wrong? Need guidance

Just started my 60k timing belt install, And if I am not mistaken, noticed my cam sensing blade is installed wrong from the factory. You can see the rubbing in the image. I was wondering why it had timing belt noise when it was new. If anybody can verify that my prognosis is correct before I rip off the crank sprocket that would be great. It is definitely installed backwards from the image in the manual, with the raised portion of the blade toward the timing belt. I guess its possible the manual is wrong? I don't think so but would love some guru knowledge! Should I replace the sensor as well? I figured if the blade was backward it would of had problems clearing the sensor, that is why I am hesitant. Car ran fine before I started.
thanks

I looked at the diagram (11-***) in the manual again, I think the blade is installed correctly. The diagram does not show the whole blade in the cross section (the "blades" are missing), so I was looking at the wrong lip.

I'm not saying it isn't backwards but that same pattern occurs on plates installed correctly.

Are you saying the reluctor wheel and sensor are backward?

I dont think it would run if so.

Plus the reluctor wheel whould hit sensor i think.

The sensor is installed correct.

I agree with the above ^.

It is installed correctly. The noise you're referring to might be a sign that you need the engine block bracket revision.

Here is the rule. When the key is to the left, the crank pully dowel is to the right, and the timing groove on the crank sensor disk is to the top. It doesn't work any other way.

I am changing the bracket you are referring to as well. Redesigned bracket, Part #1091A133 Bracket Cylinder Block. There is some consensus that this bracket is a likely culprit for timing belt noise. I guess I will find out. I haven't finished the install yet.

I thought the plate was flipped, the rubbing on it made me think that.

Was talking about plate, thought it was installed flipped. I don't think its possible to install the sensor flipped.
