It's a sad day. Looks like I'm selling.

Well, I didn't think the day would come. But it looks like I may be selling my pride and joy. I built it for the track but I will be hard-core into the school for the next two years, so I really don't see myself doing many track days. When I'm done with school, things will be better but I will most likely build a track dedicated car not based on unibody chassis. So, since the Evo will be going eventually anyway, I've decided to sell now as a couple other cars that I've always wanted has become available.
Since this is an Evo page, I expect to be told how much better the Evo is than the car on buying, how much faster it is, how much more reliable it is, and how the other car is overpriced. For that reason, I don't even know that I'm gonna post what I'm buying LOL

I am kinda bummed as I just finished the car and installed all the safety equipment that I've been chasing for the past three years.

There is a chance that Evo will stay. I'm not working very hard to let it go or buy the other car. So if I keep it, I keep it, and I will be sticking around for another 2 to 3 years.

Win/win Situation.

Here is my build thread in case anyone is curious :

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/project-cars-build-threads/726886-simple-06-evo-mr-build.html

And here is the car I will most likely be picking up (For a hell of a lot less than all of these idiots buying them from importers LOL).

That car is gonna cost WAYYYYY more to modify, I think you should reconsider, because I know for a fact you have not exhausted all possibilities with the CT9A PLATFORM.
I'm in school M,T,W,TH, I'm a father of two girls, I work 9 hours or more a day, and I still find time to do the things I love.
Keep your car..

wow! Full life and still have time to enjoy the evo,👍. My hats off to you.

I too am tossing the idea around of selling my EVO but I just can't do it. You won't find a better car or thrill for the money.

Aaaaand it begins LOL.

It may or may not be registered in California, I haven't decided if I want to fork out the cash to get it BAR'ed. It's also not going to be modified.
I have been researching the cars for the past year, I am well-versed in how expensive the car will be to maintain and restore. I am aware of rest issues, oil pump problems, etc.
I have been over these cars forward and back.
But i appreciate the advice.
This is a toy For the next two years until school is done. Then it gets sold and I start building my race car. Can't wait.

That's all I'll say about the subject because I know the conversation will go on and on and I'm not looking to be tasked out of it

absolutely not. Best all-around car I've found, so far.

The Evo is 100 times better, 1,000 times faster, 10,000 times more reliable, and the other car is WAY overpriced. Now that that's out of the way, no one else should need to post anything more on that.

But for real, I'd hate to see you go as I've learned a lot of things from your posts, but wish you the best of luck in what is probably an extremely difficult decision. I have people ask me all the time, "When are you going to let the car go?" My response is always the same, "Show me another car that does everything this car does at the same price."

Good luck.

Are R32 GTRs still going for like 20k in the States?

I think it is good to try several different platforms. Can always get another Evo. Once I'm done Uni I think I'll probably get an R34 GTT or a Suzuki Cappuccino.

R33's are going for mid 20's Canadian now, and R32's are 13+ (damn americans driving the price up) lol. Before they were allowed in the states you could get a clean R32 for 6500-7500. Now its double that.

My older brother had an R32 GTR, he bought it for 11K Canadian with 118,000km on it (hell of a deal at the time), and he sold it late last year to a fellow in Washington for $19,000 US.

LOL. But I do think it's a better car, in general. If I knew I'd get the chance to enjoy it, I'd keep it (still will, if a deal doesn't pan out). If I'm gonna have a car sit in the garage and only come out on weekends and Cars N Coffee, I'd have more fun having the GTR, for a bit. The Evo deserves a better life than that. LOL. And like I said: the Evo is being sold, eventually, as I feel it's reached it's limit as a "race car" without going nuts on the build. Time to go a different route. The GTR will just be a filler.

The GTR community is paying an average of $25k for them. Importers are raping people. Then they (importers) post crazy propaganda of mint R32s auctioning for even more ($30k or so) to justify their prices and show how "cheap" their cars are. LOL These guys are making $8-10k per car. Ridiculous.

Obviously, the four cars I'm looking at are nowhere near that expensive. They are cool cars, but not THAT cool.

If they are better than my Brembos, that would would be impressive. I wouldn't be racing the car, but good to know.

Just some OEM stuff I have laying around the garage. Some new, some used. I'll make a thread of the car goes bye bye.
