Well, I didn't think the day would come. But it looks like I may be selling my pride and joy. I built it for the track but I will be hard-core into the school for the next two years, so I really don't see myself doing many track days. When I'm done with school, things will be better but I will most likely build a track dedicated car not based on unibody chassis. So, since the Evo will be going eventually anyway, I've decided to sell now as a couple other cars that I've always wanted has become available.
Since this is an Evo page, I expect to be told how much better the Evo is than the car on buying, how much faster it is, how much more reliable it is, and how the other car is overpriced. For that reason, I don't even know that I'm gonna post what I'm buying LOL
I am kinda bummed as I just finished the car and installed all the safety equipment that I've been chasing for the past three years.
There is a chance that Evo will stay. I'm not working very hard to let it go or buy the other car. So if I keep it, I keep it, and I will be sticking around for another 2 to 3 years.
Win/win Situation.
Here is my build thread in case anyone is curious :
Sell the Evo.
Living on campus and not working - you don't need a car.
Living in the same city - reliable clunker. Parking on campus trashes any car.
Commuting - buy a big Buick with the corporate six - good gas mileage and if you have an accident, lots of mass.
Weird choice for someone going to school full time. Let's hope the parking lots will be merciful.
An old car shows its age. What's the appeal of the R32 over the Evo?
I have a Civic I daily. That's why I said the Evo/GTR would be in the garage 90% of the time. Since the Evo will be sold eventually, may as well do it now, while the market is hot.

I know someone who is currently trying to get a replacement windshield for an R32 at a cost of over $1000. Ouch.
The RHD thing bothers me. The part that bugs me the most is trying to pass on a two-lane freeway. Nothing a camera mounted into the passenger-side mirror can't fix
The parts are crazy nuts. The car I may be settling on seems to be in good shape as a driver. But we'll see. If not, the dude can kick rocks. I'm not looking for a restoration project LOL. FYI: the rubber trim seals for the doors are $800. PER SIDE.

Factory Five 818c. I'm over cutting/scraping myself while working on a unibody car. I want a track car that is lightweight, so my consumbables are cheaper, and has enough power to be fun. Mid-engine, RWD, and 300whp in a 1900lb car? yes, please. Plus, it will be trailered, so i can go all-out on the race build. No compromising for the street. I can do all that in the Evo, but it would cost a LOT more to equal the performance of the 818.

My commute to school is 45-60mins each way, four days per week, but like i said: I have a daily. I'm not too worried about how my toy will do, though I'm sure i'd like to drive it there, once in a while. Maybe. I'm not too trusting of 18yr olds and their lifted trucks.
I like the idea of a big Buick, though LOL
Good luck- I don't know if I will ever sell my evo but I do see myself in an r32 in the near future as well!
I really don't wanna... but to do the road race stuff they way I want, the 818c is just going to be a better platform. If money were no object, I'd just go nuts on the Evo.
Sigh... Pointless car exchange is pointless... Are you going for parking lot scene points since you "think" you "might" not be able to go to the track for two years? There are other things to do with a car other than track days...lol
Hopefully the oil pump in the RB26 doesn't fail on you. They're quite fragile. Also, 25yr's old means all the rubber is going to be shot; bushings, hoses, shock seals, engine seals, etc..
dafaq?? selling the evo is one thing, but why even get an r32 then?
because I'm a spoiled brat that has to have a toy to play with.

The evo is being sold eventually. If not now, then in two years when I finish school and do a dedicated track car. I bought it because it's fun to drive hard and a great track car. If I'm not tracking it, I don't have a real need for it. Driving it around town doesn't do much for me. I bought it to track and dabble in autox. So if I'm doing neither.... (our local SCCA chapter just raised event entry $10. At $55 for 5, 45sec laps, I'm out LOL).
I'm familiar with classic cars, the older RB oil pumps, etc. I've been secretly researching these cars since they became legal.
blah blah, short version: I'm gonna do something different for a while. IF the deal works out. So far, It looks like I'm keeping Le Ebo.
I thought about the same thing selling getting an R32, but I'm hold out and save up for an R34 instead. Must be wise with your monies lol
I'd love to, but they are $50k or so in Japan, and rising. $150k here for a legal one and prices are expected to be near $100k when they are avail. Realistically, I'd expect $65-75k. Too rich for my blood. I love them, but not that much LOL
