Replaced crank sensor, still a nostart condition.

Balance shaft belt snapped and destroyed the crank sensor.

Took everything apart and replaced the sensor.

Left the belt off as I am unable to replace it at this time.

After reassembly the car will crank but not start. Battery was out for a week which reset the CEL codes but I expected another code upon no start. No codes showed up tho.

Thanks

Flip

Charge the battery. Check spark. If spark is yes then check compression.

Update bump,

Pulled a coil and realized I do have spark.

Pulled off the fuel regulator and I do have fuel.

Pulled a plug and there is no fuel in the cylinder.

Used a multimeter and the crank sensor is reading correctly.

Still looking...

Pulling a coil and getting spark, well, you probably did the same thing the engine computer does and that is to interrupt current. Interrupting battery current is what creates spark.

Since the crank sensor got snagged I'd suggest checking every fuse in the car. These new fuses are easy to check since you don't need to pull them. But back to the sensor being snagged, I'd look upstream in the wiring harness, maybe something else got pulled apart.

Finally, I believe the ECU delivers spark and fuel off of the cam sensor, not the crank sensor. Well, they both need to be working for success.

I did find a ground farther up in the wiring that had melted apart... The one near the coolant and cam sensor.

But wouldn't the can sensor throw a code if it was preventing startup?

Will fix the ground issue and report back.

Car cranks perfectly, I marked the timing belt and you can see it move.

Fixed the ground issue but it did not resolve the issue.

I really don't want to tow this to the shop ;(
