Dude I'd love a bb red with an MHI housing. I'll likely just upgrade my 1.0xtr Dominator to the 1.5 once I decide to go built bottom end and/or e85.

Responsiveness and top end are opposite. So you gotta decide how much of one you are willing to give up for the other.

Here are things that hurt response, in relation to what you have posted:

Full Race mani
Big Cams
Big turbo
slower spool, but better top end.

Stock short block
6 spd trans (if you had one)
Either will limit you on torque. So, while you may have 600whp, you will only be around 350ftlbs. That makes a car feel even worse. not only that, but it's gonna take a while to get to that 350ftlbs with a big turbo. All the lag, none of the torque LOL.

Here is a dyno chart of my old HTA 71 (blue) vs the Green I have now (red), since you mention looking for a green. This was before tuning, but shows spool characteristics of the two, as well as the decreased boost needed to make the same power. Your IX turbo will spool even faster, but make less peak WHP. I preach the HTA71 being the best street turbo for our 2.0L, any chance I get LOL

Here is my conservative track tune. This is on the MHI housing, I'm told SS spools slower but makes more peak power; similar to an MHI red, as others have stated in this thread. There's more in it, but I'm not looking to tow the car home LOL

s the Black spools at 4000 to 4500RPM? Or late? Just curious
My FP JB Red, MHI housing, 10.5 hot side, sees 30 psi @4k. I have a built 2.0l with full ported head and 272 cams. You can look at my build using the link in the sig.

1000cc injectors are fine for the stock turbo, with cams, on E85. I made 420whp, IDC was a safe 90%.

Now, if the OP wants a responsive turbo, a Red is the biggest you should go with an MHI twin scroll, or the green in single scroll. Can also look at the Blouch 2.0xtr.

I was wondering as well when I saw the 12:1 afr across the board! I figured that's not so conservative for a road course car on pump gas haha.

I'm real curious to see some 2.0 results on a 2 liter. I like the Blouch offerings because they still use MHI housings and the bb units seem very robust. Garrett dual bb center sections. I'm not sure if I'd go 2.0 or straight to the 3.0. Likely the former. Sorry if off topic. The OP could certainly consider a 2.0XTR turbo for a stock block vs a Black I think.

Single scroll red? That lag though. Gotta get on the twin scroll life.

yes single. I wouldnt spend on a twin red. Because if i buy new turbo hopefully it will be a 6466 or something. The lag sux but it still pulls hard. Although it is true my evo 9 turbo felt more torque.

That is a far-to-the-right power band for sure. I wonder what it would look like if it were started at say 2k-2500k rpm?

Letsgetthisdone, that looks like a nice MD graph on the bottom! Peak torque looks to be in the same area as my smaller turbo! Must be fun around town.
