AC doesn't work, clutch doesn't engage. I thought it was the shim but I found a cut wire on the condenser. Is this my problem and what does this plug/wire do?

This is the plug on top of the condenser that's not connected.
This is a cut wire where I assume that plug connected which is attached to a bracket on the side of the condenser.

 

In the first picture there are two plugs on top of the condenser. One of them is connected and the other (in 1st pic) is not.

 

Figured it out. The first pic is actually the male and female end of the plug connected. The second is the wire that was cut or failed which connected to the female end. Took the plug apart and reconnected the wire.
