Long story short I recently purchased an 08 Evo GSR with several modifications done to it. The check engine light was on but the seller told me it was due to the car not having a cat. We got it scanned and sure enough one of the codes were from the car, however it's also throwing a code for running lean and cylinder 4 misfire. I replaced the spark plugs with OEM plugs but it's still saying there is a misfire. I am looking for a reputable mechanic to look at the car and fix the issues so I don't have a light.
I live in Cartersville Georgia which is about 40 minutes north of Atlanta on 75.
Doug Wilkes is really good. He opened his own shop. Don't go to topspeed. he use to work there and since he left they went to ****. Otherwise head down to florida to mad scientist

Any idea what his shop is called?
Do you think a Mitsubishi dealer would be able to fix my issues with the car being modded?
It will go into the system as being modded. If its because of the no cat then it could become a tuning issue. Have you done any logs or have you checked to see the code?
I attempted to install several 02 spacers to remove CEL. I reset the ECU and drove around 75 miles and the CEL came back on. I went to Advanced and had the car scanned and the following codes were found :
-P0139 Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 2
-P0172 Bank 1 system too rich
-P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire detected
Ive replaced all the plugs with OEM plugs and I thought the misfire went away but I guess I was wrong.
Could the P0172 be because of the cat? or are they not related?
This was the result of my CEL cylinder 4 misfire in Dec.
EDIT: Let me reword that. I had a CEL for cylinder 4 misfire and this is what we found. I would do compression test on yours if you haven't...And check the coils and the plug wires. I just realized the 08 is the new motor right? Not the 4g63? So maybe behaves different than mine.

I just took my car to Doug at his new shop in Cumming. He tuned the car and it made 442HP! Found out my car had an upgraded turbo already and he got rid of my codes. So I am a happy camper. I highly recommend DBW Motorsports!!!
