Help identifying wire harness/wires

My radio hasn't worked since I got the car, so I've been trying everything I can think of to find the issue. I think I got it narrowed down to the amp, however while I was looking under the dash I noticed a semi melted wire harness and several cut wires. The harness is located on the drivers side firewall, under the dash, near the carpet.

Does anyone know what this harness is used for? I also noticed a spot that looks like it's for a harness, however this harness isn't long enough to plug into it.

Get the part number of that control unit. Based on your pics it definitely looks like it runs to it.

That melted connector gives me heartburn just seeing it.

I thought so to, however if you look at the black box. The wire harness connected to it is white and this one is thicker and black. I think it's to thick and won't plug into it. Plus the wires are far to short.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the exact same harness/connector and I am not sure it plugs into it. Although my harness has a solid white part, not sure how it could connect.

No I have not. The only thing I can figure is that the harness is for something to do with an MR and is unused on the GSR. It appears that wires were cut from it. My guess is that one of the previous owners tried to tap into a wire on the harness and melted the dang thing and then cut the wires. But that's just a guess.

the harness doesn't have enough slack to go up to the module. I also have no cel lights on for anything.

FYI, that last photo is the ACD/AYC unit and is missing a connection.

hmm If that's the case, why don't I have a CEL?

could someone please take a picture of this area under their car so I can compare?

yes after looking at it, it's definitely the acd/ayc unit. But that harness plug is not the correct shape or length to plug into the empty spot
