So I wanted to try out the APR front splitter. After installing it I didnt like the gap that seemed to be at the nose of the car and worred that it might help pull it off the car at speed on the track. I decided to put an extra 2 support bolts into the splitter and stock lip. After installing it on the car I guess those 2 extra bolts pulled the splitter up to give it a slight angle as you can see in the pics. I circled the 2 extra bolts I put on.
Is this slight angle at the nose a big issue? Should I remove the 2 bolts?
I think I might try putting some washers in between the lip and splitter to let the front of the splitter be level while keeping those extra support bolts active.
The rods were only fastened into the bumper plastic w/a washer on the back side. At 140mph, it pulled that attachment right out of the bumper plastic & ended up dragging on the track
Anyway, that was many years ago & my bad due to limited track experience
BTW, on a side note, I am one of the few EvO owners to fail the stock 9 wing. (home track has very high aero loads)

Back on topic, maybe some of the other guys have some tips to ensure your splitter mount will survive the track

Oh wow, ya I've seen the evo 9 snapped wing pic awhile back on here. Luckily I have the 8 wing 😁.
Ya I'm trying to make sure that this splitter doesn't rip off, want to try to put some other support near the wheel area in front of the splash shields just in case. Did your just rip the support rods out or take the entire thing with it?
That angle in the center isn't as bad as you would think, under squat the higher center will actually keep air flowing under the car and aid in aero grip on entry. A slight upward angle isn't that bad as long as it stays and doesn't get pushed up at speed...
hmm ok that's good to know. I did end up putting some washers under the lip and between the splitter on the 2 extra holes i made up front to make it more level though. It almost parallel to the ground level, just a tad upward still. With the rods attached to the support beam I was able to stand on each side of the support beams of the front lip with no problems (190 lbs) so hopefully it won't rip off.
Originally with that much tilt, I was worried that at speed though that the car would transfer the weight to the back and cause too much of an upward angle at front, but not sure how much more it would make the car tilt.

you need some form of air damn to seal off the bumper. where in south jersey are you? ive got a kognition wing, diy built alumalite splitter, and diffuser taking up space in my basement...
