Am I correct in believing you ran Z1s in front and two RE01Rs in the back?

Yes that was the tire configuration we ran. I wanted to get a direct comparison w/o having the balance of the car affect the times. Also the first group was cold and dirty and we didn't know at the time if the Dunlops would get enough heat in the rear. As you know, the best thing about the 'stones are they good cold.

The Z1 transition well, they don't have that sidewall flop-over and then set feeling the RE-01s have. At the same time they have a slight numbness like a worn r-compound.

The course had some high g transitions and a long national like slalom and the car felt great.

Are there any other places besides TireRack that sell these? I searched around Google and found that only carry it.

We ran them yesterday at a pre-event to SCCA San Diego national tour. We came in 1-2 in the STU Street tire class. You guys should see my new wing endplates.

The Direzza Z1 are discontinued. They are being replaced by Direzza Z1 Star. Neal said Evo fitments should be available by the end of the month.

We had a set last Sept., but they've been out in Japan for a while. The new tire is a compound change with the same tread, which will be better for street driving, as it doesn't need as much heat to get grippy.
