license plate on jdm rear issue

I'm in the midst of the jdm rear bumper conversion on my IX. just switched the usdm bracket onto the jdm but obviously the license plate bracket should not sit this far out.. what did you guys do to fix this?

also, this is a bayson r jdm rear replica. which has pretty great reviews. the test fit was pretty good.

You'll need the JDM rear bumper support bar.

Some people have modded the usdm bracket and it works perfect. Was hoping one of the guys who have done that could chime in.

Check out this guide - http://speed.academy/mitsubishi-evol...er-conversion/

Worked out nicely for me. There's still going to be small gaps on the sides but I just covered it up with a license plate frame.

better to get an stm rear jdm support, most guys run without a rear bumper support. they are braver than me. Afterhours automotive is where i got mine, they make heavy duty supports

by far this is the BEST mod you can do to an Evo cosmetically. It's just awesome looking!

How did the Ebay bumper turn out? I'm close to buying one and would really appreciate seeing some pics. Thanks.

This is a pretty old thread but to answer your question a replica is cheaper because it is a replica. It will not if like oem despite some people saying they had no issues its a hit or miss. aftermarket body production isn't consistent. ive seen aftermarket jdm bumpers in person and many just don't look right and i could tell right away its a knock off. you already paid how much for an evo so you can obviously afford it..why not just get the real thing?

I am a local to Bayson R and I’ll tell you that fitment is spot on. I had one on my VIII last year before selling it and the only reason I sold it was because another local was selling a OEM one that was color matched to mine.
