IX plugs and ignition for 650whp
I'll be installing my PT6262 soon, currently I'm on stock IX plugs @ .020, stock ignition. They're perfectly fine @ 450whp, but I'm concerned about how they'll handle 650whp.
Now, both myself and a friend of mine have tried Denso IKH24 (one step colder iridiums), and they are junk, even gapped down to .020.
That pretty much leaves my only option to be the NGK R7437-8 are one-step colder race plugs, but they're $150 for the set of 4. I'd strongly like to stick with NGK unless there's a 3rd option I'm not aware of.
So, two part question:
1.) Will the stock IX NGK iridiums hold up to 650whp? Please only answer if you know from first hand experience if the answer is yes or no.
2.) Will the stock ignition hold up to 650whp? If not, I'll get the Spark Tech Non-CDI Plug and Play, as I'm on the stock ECU. Again, please no guessing what works, I'd like people who have actually tried this.
Thanks, in advance.

Bump for you, as I am interested in the same question. I am shooting for 800+whp, and am interested to see the ignition requirements. I currently have the Okada Coil packs, which may interest you also. Hopefully someone with some technical answers can chime in!

Stock VIII/IX heat range iridiums will hold up to 960+whp when gapped down. Stock Ignitions have been pushed quite a way, but some of this depends on fuel/boost/timing combination you might be running to get the 650whp.
The SparkTech Non-CDi will definitely be able to get it done. I am able to run fairly low timing and high boost with ease with mine.

I made 661 on a mustang dyno with a IX on the stock plugs. Also done it with the IKH24s. Not sure why anyone would say they are junk. Have never had any problem with the Densos.
Was using AEM with BR COP. IX plugs were stock untouched gap. Never went over 37 psi on C16.
