I will be releasing our custom, one of a kind intake in the next couple weeks. It is designed specifically for the FP larger compressor cover turbos. The intake is 4" and has a velocity stack as well. There is also has a sturdy bracket for a solid mount!

Feel free to PM for any info or to be the order list for this!

Here is the first intake we did for a customers FP Black in the review section

I've had a couple of people PM me about my home built intake pipe, so thought I'd share:

Parts List:
1 - 3.25" - 4" silicone Reducer/coupler
1 - Spectre 4" aluminum 45 elbow part# 9749
2 - 4" t-bolt clamps (could use worm-gear clamps)
1 - 3.25" worm gear clamp
1 - 4" K&N Filter, part# RE-0870

I cut 1" off of the turbo side of the 45* elbow to get the filter to clear everything, everything else should be self-explanitory.

Total cost was under $90.

I just ordered at FP Green HTA73 with the 84mm cover. I'm using a AEM intake(which is 3in). Can i use a 3inch(80mm) coupler over the 84mm compressor housing inlet? Wouldn't it be better to use a 3.25in-3in reducer coupler? I don't want any leaks. This, to me, seems like it would be a better fit. Although, i would rather it be super tight, then even remotely bunched up under the clamp.

I'm interested in knowing what people running the AEM intake are using.

Thanks

you could but honestly i think its dumb to down size. at least go 3.25>3.5. id say a 3" coupler is gonna have a hard time fiting over 3.25 housing. i posted a link earlier in this thread for good reducers

You can fit a 3" cup on the 84mm housing but it is a really tight fit! I would go 3.25 to 4" with a nice 4" intake

I agree. BUT, i like the AEM, because in my testing back in the day, the AEM intake flowed great and didn't mess with the stock MAF sensor and retained the DV recirc. It also was the only cone style filter intake that still allowed the use of the stock cold air snorkel, which allowed the intake to receive cold air from under the front of the hood. The AEM also has a nice heat shield that actually helps heat soak considerably. I did a TON of testing on this back in 2006-07.

Unless there is a 4in intake pipe that can do all this, i'm gonna stick with my AEM. Do you know of one? I would be willing to try one out. When i was doing this testing, there were no 4in offerings that had these features.

yea but even with all those features your holding back being 3" . But i guess if your keeping MAF then you dont have alot of choices

what kind of testing did you do? ive seen alot of dyno results and ive never really seen great results out of the aem intakes.

i noiticed in your sig you have stock IC any reason for that? that green is gonna need a better i/c setup IMO

Here is a couple pictures form freshevo8's thread of our intake.

Regarding the question about making one for a MAF setup, I don't see anything at the moment that would look like the pictures below. The MAF presents some difficulties when trying to use a velocity stack. We have our standard 3" intake which could be used with a coupler.
