How to: Change Cabin Air Filter

I know this is SUPER easy, but I have seen a few people ask how to do it.

This takes less than 5 minutes.

Step 1. Open glove box and locate the rubber arm that keeps the glove box from opening too far. It's right here on the right side of the glove box.

Step 2. Slide the arm over and get it off the glove box.

Step 3. Push in the tabs on top of the glove box that hold it in place. ***It might fall open pretty fast since nothing is supporting it anymore.***

Step 4. Now we see the Blower and where the cabin air filter is. So now we have to take the cover for the cabin air filter off. There are two clips that hold the cover on each side.

Step 5. Now there is the filter. Just slide it out and replace it and reverse the steps.

Thanks for the writeup! When I did it, I didn't have to remove the rubber arm. I just pushed in the tabs on the back, let it swing down slightly, and changed the filter. I actually hadn't noticed the arm until seeing your pics

Thanks man. O and I just posted in the General section that the filter in the X is the same thing as most of the Nissan cabin air filters('02-'06 Altimas, '03-'08 Maxima's, etc.). The Nissan filters are sometimes half the price at part stores. At some part stores, the cabin filter that they list for X's isn't right anyway.

About 14,xxx. The OE filter is colored grey. The Aftermarket one is just plain white. I had already shook it out once but I figured that I needed to change it because of all the crappy pollen we've had the past week. It was like yellow smoke everywhere. haha. It was crazy bad this year.

Also, logical-source.com has YTK filters for the 08+ lancer for under $7 each. The quality seems to be decent, and much less than the $35-50 OEM filter.

I'm in Augusta. Evans is a suburb outside of Augusta. If that's what you mean, then I live off Washington Rd. Kinda close to the Walmart in Evans.

I wasn't sure if you thought that was Evans county or not.
