Technically, it does. The coils go over the struts. Its just non-adjustable.

I wonder how many people that spend the $1000 or so for adjustable "coilovers" ever adjust them or see any benefit from them other than lightening their wallets.

I would definitely go to www.shockwarehouse.com and spend the money to get the Bilstein's man. From experience, suspension is not something you want to cut corners with. If your not getting top of the line you might as well not even do it, b/c you will end up spending more money down the road to replace everything else on the suspension. Its an Evo not a civic dude. Save the money and buy the Bilsteins if you want a lower ride, better performance, and not bottom out on every bump. In the meantime, I would buy the OEM struts or just drive careful with the bad struts till you got the dough to get the Bilsteins. You can get the OEM struts for $246.xx on www.Mitsubishiparts.net

+1. Reminds me of an evo with more mods, and motons and an STI with KW v3s running slower times than me with my robispecs and stock gsr's w/ 50k on them. Im not knocking coilovers, just that too many people buy them thinking it will automatically make your car faster regardless.

What are the thoughts here on camber when it comes to the Bilstein/Swift combo? I'm about to acquire a car with the MR Bilstein/Swift sport combo. I'm thinking of switching to Spec-R but the car is running Work CR Kai's with et20 and 0 camber. Love the wheels but I'm guessing they are going to rub if I autox even though the fenders are rolled. I was going to add a bit of camber but I don't want plates. So either coils or just use the camber bolt? I really don't want to sell the wheels but they have to function.

What would Smike do lol

I'm actually considering selling my Ohlins after this season and moving to a Bilstein/Swift combo. Plan to put that money towards seats/rollbar/harnesses.

everyone who gets coilovers adjusts them as that is what is required if you want to set the initial height. With a standard strut you have no adjustment. Also, with the coilover you can adjust the firmness on the strut.

I was in the same delimma last week..purchase Bilsteins for $750 or get a coil over. I don't race and only occasionally do spirited driving on the street. After much research I ordered the Megan Street setup for $850 shipped to my door. So for $100 more I can set desired height and adjust dampening.

I had already done the Perrin PSRS, Whiteline roll center kit and front a-arm bushing in hopes that is what was making the clunk, but it was indeed the strut. Just for fun I also got the H&R bars front/rear.

I will give my honest feedback once they are installed and run for a week or so. Did I make the right choice? I hope so, but for the money I think the choice was easy over the bilsteins.

I didn't think Megan have very good valving (no personal experience) and that's why folks are trying to match springs to the Bilsteins and/or going out of their way to revalve mr take offs. That being said, I drove an Impreza RS the other day running BC coils, which are considered to be trash. I got to adjust the damper myself and I thought they were great. Soft was soft, stiff was seriously stiff. Then again I'm a noob!

Megans are crap. The Bilsteins were a better buy, but hey your money. And yes, I had them both.

And as far as adjustments go. You don't. You set the car up -- align and corner balance it, get the valving to where you like it for driving...and guess what - leave it. This is where the Bilsten/Swift(GTWorx) combo is great. It comes all ready done. Just need an alignment and you are good-to-go.

In my opinion, you are biased recommending product from you sponsors and bashing non paying vendors.
