CAn you drop a Evo engin into a GSX?
I have a friend thats looking into buying a used car, and hes going to look at this 95gsx tomorrow. So i just want to know if it would be possible to drop in a 4G63, and would it be worth it?

the GSX has a 7 bolt 4g63... 7 bolt 4g63s= teh suck. If you can find a way to make the evo engine and tranny work, you could make alot of money in the DSM community getting those engines into their cars...
the evo7 and 8 engine and transmission are the same, evo 6 and before are the same.
evo7 and 8 = CT9A
Evo6 under = CN9A the only thing i rememebr is that the piston, piston rod are differnt in the two..im guessing the layout of the engine and transmission are the same tho. someone correct me if im wrong

Why doesnt your friend just get a JDM 6-bolt from a Galant VR-4 or an EVO 3(in which both would fit)?
They are still very powerful, but not as powerful as the EVO 7 4g63 because of better internals and bigger turbo. The one from a Galant usually comes with a small 16 turbo, whereas the EVO comes with a Big 16G turbo.

Anything from EVO IV - VIII would be unlikely to fit into that car.
The DSM's 4G63 shares the same engine orientation with the EVO I-III (CD9A and CE9A chassis) 4G63. You will find that it is less likely that you can find parts for them since they're at least 8-9 year old cars.
I would suggest to build up your existing engine instead of getting a JDM 4G63. That's my thought

Good lord....
Evo's I, II, and III motors will fit in directly, any evo motor after that faces the OPPISITE DIRECTION so it won't work without SUPER customization.
7 bolts aren't bad @ all, their stock rods are a bit slimmer than their 6bolt counterparts, but who cares about stock anyway? If you're building a motor you would replace the stock rods! Also, no one would shell out bucks for an EVO VII or VIII motor?!? I'm sure they would cost upwards of 3 to 4k, and for what?!? A 270 to 300ish hp 4G63?!? Heh, you can get that with a stock motor and a 16G!
