Let's just say that you have to change ALOT of brake pads to justify the price of this gizmo...If I recall the price is north of 200.00

Yes, this would certainly be mainly useful for mechanics, pit crew, racers, or track junkies. No point for the average person that changes one set every year or two.

For those that go to the track frequently and change their pads every time you go, its a nice time saving piece to have. Also, since it works on nearly any car with this type of brake design, it can be shared across several different cars

Neat, but hard to justify.

When I push one side in, the other side will come out? Am I missing something?

Work one side...put the pad it, then work the other side.

Like I said before, this is for rich people OR people that are frequently changing pads and would like to do it in less time. Would be a waste for the average owner. Very cool for the other group though

if u pull out the bad youll see the 2 pistons... take 2 flat heads very carefully and angle them against the rotor. then you can use that to compress the pistons back in the caliper and slide the new pad in.. Then you do the same for the other side. if you do both sides at the same time its much more difficult.

This tool isnt' a bad idea at all and is actually helpful as it cuts time in half. But like charles said its for people who need to change brake pads on the fly and dont have all day it do it.

Cheers!

I just did my pads today and I have to admit that it would have been nice to have had a piston spreader tool. I just used my trusty ol' little pry bar to get the job done.
