Is the OPN reverse thread? If it's not, you did the safety wire in the wrong direction. You want the nut to pull the safety wire taught as it loosens the way its going, the safety wire isn't going to keep it on if it loosens counter-clockwise. :/

It's reverse threaded from the factory.

I don't think I'll ever get used to reverse thread fasteners. It always weirds me out...LOL


Car looks like it's coming together pretty well for you. Great job on the resto. I would never have the patience to go through a car like that lol. I would have to buy a west coast car and avoid the rust.

I got a lot of **** for buying a $6k car and then dumping $10k into it just to track it. Why not just find one already done for $10k?



I guess I like

A. doing it right the first time
and
B. knowing it was done right and that no corners were cut
and
C. doing it my way



Either way, it's fun. It's part of the hobby for me. Researching the platform, reading about weaknesses, fixing them and then beating the **** out of the car (and ideally driving it home at the end of the day)

Car Restoration is a hobby. There are not enough people in the JDM car community that understand the joy of restoring/repairing things. Everyone tries to chase power goals rather than build a balanced reliable vehicle.

I have enjoyed seeing the updates on Facebook and on the thread.
