Smile New(ish) evo x owner from way up North

So I made a dream of mine come true the other day when I brought home my 2014, twas about a 20hr round trip. I've always trailered my car's when travelling but this time I just couldn't make that happen. This car was previously garage kept with a brand new oem crate motor (2500 miles now approx) with only 103k on the body. I was nervous about the 8ish hour drive home in 80 degree weather but my numbers were good as well as everything else for the entire drive. Not a bit of oil consumption. What I did notice was some dried/hardened coolant (?) on the hard intercooler pipe. I had worked a 12hr nightshift prior to the drive and was driving for what felt like days to get to this car, but I know I was "with it" enough to know that wasn't there when I initially checked the whole car out. It is tuned by AMS out of Chicago (2022) and that was shortly after the new crate motor install, base 93 oct. map with an ECU reflash. Stock turbo header inject. etc. No spark knocks that I've caught. Obviously doing an oil change before I drive it much more after that long haul, and other routine $hit.

I would consider myself decently knowledgeable with this generation of the EVO's but I've only been in the car scene for about 5 years. Started with WRX's and JDM swaps (never again), Cooper S's and was lucky enough to learn about, drive, and work on an Evo X which is where I fell in love with them as a whole. So now having one of my own I guess I am just looking for any suggestions as to where I should start. I'm going slow with this as I'm a single mom working as a noc shift CNA, and not to mention I plan on keeping this car for years to come. Thanks for listening to my tedtalk and happy to be apart of this forum network and continue learning about these cars <3

With any "new" used car, I always start with all new fluid, well except coolant unless glaring. Which I actually need to do now with mine. The T-case can be finicky with filling and give false fill, but as long as you track the amount of fluid you put in and go slow, you should be good. EvoScan website has the service manual available. Absolute fantastic car to own!

Welcome! And like Robbie said, start with changing fluids and then to address the coolant, start looking for any leaks, monitor coolant level, etc. Its hard to say what is happening without it in front of me.
