Has anyone else been getting pop up ads while surfing evolutionm.net?? For the past couple of days now, I've been getting pop up ads while I'm reading thru the forum.

 

i havent........do you have other sites up when you're surfing the forum?

Must be spyware that you have acquired from some program. Particularly Kazaa.

 

yeah no pop ups from evom. prolly from some other program on your computer or another internet application.

 

Nope, Kazaa is turned off, but I still get pop up ads.

 

still is probably spyware. try and download ad-aware from www.lavasoft.com ..the download should be somewhere. and watch out whihc files you delete when you run the scan..some of them are needed to run kazaa.

another possibility is you might have this thing called "SaveNow" or some other program..theyre designed to give you pop-ups. totally sucks

 

i use a program called free surfer it works great at killing pop-ups! But only from IE it would not be able to help against Kazaa!

And that's actually http://www.lavasoft.nu/ instead of www.lavasoft.com

EDIT: I thought it was lavasoft.com but it was lavasoft.nu.
No matter if Kazaa is ON or OFF the spyware is integrated into your registry, therefore causing unneeded advertisements, thus Pop-Ups. Lavasoft's Ad-Aware should clean those annoying Ads up. Whenever I have Pop-Ups I run that bad boy up and bam! No more of those annoying ads.

No popup problems, but I use Mozilla, so I never get unrequested popups.

its cause you got kazaa in the first place kazaa makes you dl xupiter program wich sucks uninstall kazaa and download kazaa lite not a single pop up or banner nothing and i dont gtw pop ups anymore

 

i have kazaalite and still get popups from it i think. i've used adaware and that program rocks. definitely a good dl. you can get a variety of popup blockers and such at www.cnet.com

 

hmmm weird..i've had kazaa for a long *** time and never a problem until i dl that stupid bulldog firewall thing from them and i keep getting the stupid xupiter page now. looks like i'm gonna have to get rid of it now

 

if you dont want to bother uninstalling kazaa to get kazaalite, you can go to www.kazaalite.com and get their dummy file. After running ad-aware (www.lavasoft.nu) delete the kazaa spyware and replace it with the dummy file. Kazaa thinks the spyware is running but it really isn't.
