Unless there were a public outcry and/or the Mirage forums failed I can't imagine why we'd create a new subforum for them. Honestly though, I would kinda like it just to compare points with the 4g93 folks. Generally speaking they're a lot more adventurous than the 4g94 folks, and seem to have more interest in the mechanical rather than the show and shine. Hell, we event got some of our best tech knowledge from Mirage Forums guys like bahamut, dudeinamirage and others. In short, I wouldn't mind the new forum, but I think it'd take a bit to migrate enough users over to make such a change worthwhile.

I could say the same for older EVOLUTION models like what I am now driving but truly this site was started when the Lancer arrived in the US in 2001 or so and people eagerly awaited the arrival of the Evolution. The name was changed to reflect Mitsu bringing the Evolution to the shores and the Evolution forums exploded.

Now there is the ralliart section which basically makes the site encompass the Lancer platform in the US.

There is a wealth of information out there already for Mirages as I had one too but just like I am doing you have to search elsewhere if you really want vehicle specific info.

my thoughts are, with the backwards compatitibilty we coud realy make a stronger community. i really feel that the mirage community would come on board here and we woud all be better off for it. if u take note ul see most gurus here at east have mirage knowledge, if not owned one at one itme or the other... just a thought to try to make the site better.

Actually, it wouldn't be a bad idea. We do have some Mirage owners, we'd draw in some new ones, and it would be easier to place the discussions about the similarities of the 4G93 and 4G94 motors (see my sig). I wouldn't mind a simple subforum from Lancerland if EvoM would be up for it...

I had one but wrapped it around a pole last winter But if you started letting other Mitsus on here other than Lancers then you would have to let Eclipses and all that stuff too and then it wouldnt be a Lancer forum it would be a DSM forum and there are tons of those already.

I don't follow your logic.

We don't stop people from joining based on their car. I don't even own a anymore.

If we put up a small section for Mirages, I don't think it would make every DSM owner flock to EvoM. Hell, I don't think Mirages are that popular.

That's poor logic. Every other Mitsu is not a DSM. At least Mirages were called Lancers in other countries. Mirage, was mostly a US only name because it was too close to when Dodge was still using it when the car came out.

People throw the term DSM around too much when it is actually wone of the tightest group of Mitsu enthusiasts, and that is turbo 1G's and 2G' E/T/L's.

I think its a good idea to have a pre '02 Lancer/Mirage subforum.
