In need of clarification
This is a private forum, it is run by however the owner dictates it is run and the mods must serve the owner's wishes. If the owner wants to ban everyone who owns a lancer since the site is called "evolutionm" then his wish is the law around here.

I don't recall ever mentioning a Constitutional right. This forum has a set of rules that supposedly apply to everyone. As it stands, that is not the case due to a mod's abuse of power.
In case anyone is curious, this is the guy who started the troll - looking for a fight - that was deleted (a shame).
Again, this is a matter for the admins to handle and I look forward to their comments. Please don't clutter this discussion with obfuscatory drivel.

With all due respect, I don't think WestSideBilly dictates this site's policies. I'd really like to know how an admin explains the situation.
Please read the whole thread. He was the main instigator, and it was not the first time, not was it the second, third or forth, etc. I'd truly appreciate it if my points were addressed directly.
Thank you.

User Kordyte says he's young and has an Evo.
User FJF replies he's old enough to be Kordyte's father.
User shvc1991 replies with Star Wars reference to Darth Vader being Luke's father.
FJF repies "Do you want me to flame you? Or, can a thread possibly survive without you painting a target on your chest?"
I saw the thread at this point and thought little of it (actually commenting on an OT n00b flame war), but your post was very definitely the start of the mess. I came back a few hours later to find about 30 posts from you degrading the intelligence of every person who posted in the thread (all of whom were, from my perspective, posting jokes about various things). I read through it start to finish, and didn't care for the tone or nature of your banter. I never got the sense you were joking around or having fun - in fact, I got the distinct impression you were slamming everyone you could. There are other threads in OT where you post in a similar manner.
I had a PM discussion with shvc and he knows not to get into it with you or anyone else. Your PM to me gives me the impression you have no intention of changing your ways.
I was recently involved in a thread on OT. Due to my participation, I received 5 points for my replies starting with this post.
The thread ended by being closed, but not before WestSideBilly took his shots:

I have no problem taking full responsibility for my actions, but I do have two questions:
1. Why is a mod allowed to post crass insults and then award points to someone who supposedly did the same thing?
I said "supposedly," because profanity never entered the picture until he came along.
2. How am I a troll when I replied to a post aimed at me, written by someone who has a history of picking fights with yours truly? The same goes for the other messages.
Here is WestSideBilly's PM quoted verbatim:
As I mentioned in my response to his note, I have nothing against other user(s). From my POV, we were just having some fun. Unless something changed the concept of a discussion forum, responding to a direct comment is the nature of the beast.
WestSideBilly wrote, "3 pages of attacking anyone who posted in a thread?" Clearly, "anyone" must be a code word for folks who decided to enter the flame war with comments of their own. This is a matter of record.
Can someone please explain to me why a mod is allowed to shoot profane insults and then close the thread, while others are not allowed to speak freely?
Thank you in advance for the kind consideration.
Edit: if you'd like to read my reply to WestSideBilly's PM, I can post it, as well.

And, honestly, I think you do have something against some of the OTers, or at the very least think of them as inferior. As mentioned, there is a distinct air of superiority in your OT posts.
I'm going to reread the thread later but I don't think my view of it will change.
Man i wish I could have read that whole thing i got half way through it and woooosh. then it was gone.
I think the admins are opening up a HUGE can of worms here with the limitations set on what you can say, or how you go about saying it, or more importantly how someone interpets your words....online. I dont know.

The limitations haven't changed. Repeatedly telling someone, in no uncertain terms, that they are stupid was never allowed. This system merely makes the system less prone to error or miscommunication, and likewise a bit less subjective (although the users who get infractions will never agree with that).
