No negative post about bad vendors allowed?

I followed all the guidlines and my legitimate complaint about a vendor here is deleted. Why? Lets please have an open discussion with the moderators about this. Can we? My purpose in posting my documented complaint was so people here can make a knowledgable decision about who they choose to do business with.

Please don't protect vendors who treat EvoM members like this. The people here need to know when there are continuing problems with a vendor here.

Maybe if legitimate complaints were allowed they coudn't or wouldn't continue to do business this way.

There might have been a reason that a MOD deleted your thread, I hope that one responds with his or her reasoning.

It is however very annoying when they delete a legitimate complaint. I have had two of my posts deleted because I said something about a PAYING vendor on this board.

I don’t know if the people who operate this board make a profit but you would hope so with how they deal with paying vendors vs. non paying members.

The reason I was given by spt for deleting my post was just a reference to the posted rules about putting up a negative post.

I tried to follow all the rules.

I was given no explanation about which of the rules I violated and how. Just a simple email referencing the rules by spt. Prior to spt deleting my post I had only talked with Charles by PM.

I spent a lot of time documenting my problem, getting names, emails etc. I can see no legitamate reason for it being deleted except to protect the vendor from bad business practices.

they have been cracking down on people in the for sale forums and posting negative comments. I just went thru the same thing in a way. My instructions were to PM a moderator and they will see what they can do to get your situation resolved. If the situation has already been resolved and you were simply informing everyone here of a bad transaction then i cant really see the problem with letting everyone know either. In the past these types of posts have steered me clear of engaging in possible transactions with these types of vendors. Usually where there is one complaint there are others. Hopefully your gripe can be solved in a manner that is pleasing to you. Cool things about the mods are, there are always other ones, and some are a lot more people friendly then others.

Okay I had a feeling that instead of pm'ing me about this, you wanted to make this a big show.

Now to address situation:

There are 2 stickies located at the top of the "Service, Tuning, & Part Review" Section. The first sticky is called "Did a negative review get deleted? The reason is in here -LOOK!!!!" and the second is called "READ THIS before posting or repling to a NEGATIVE review!". Both basically state you need to talk with us first to make sure the complaint is legit and so we can help resolve the issue first before a post is made. The reason why have this policy is:

1. We want to make sure we can do everything we need to make sure the customer gets their product or a refund. Posting a negative review first only escalates the situation and doesn't help resolve anything. The end result is we want to make sure the customer gets what they need.

2. We have had a lot of invalid complaints towards some vendors simply because there are personal feelings involved or there was a miscommunication. We want to make sure the complaint is valid and there aren't any malicious motives behind it.

3. If the complaint is valid and the vendor does not resolve the issue, it helps keep track of who, what, when , why, etc.

Now if you already talked with Charles and he gave the okay to post the negative review then what you should have done is TOLD ME via pm about it first. It would have been much easier to do then to ask other people why I told you something and I could of restored your thread within seconds after the pm.

Also the links I provided you have full explanations as to what you need to do before you post negative reviews. I would suggest reading them first and then let me know if you need further explanation.

I apologize if this is coming off as a bit harsh, but it gets really frustrating when people need to create so much drama off of something that can fixed pretty easliy.

Anyways, please let me know (via PM) if Charles gave you the okay to post the review. If he did then that means we tried everything in our power to help both parties involved but in the end it didn't work out.

mojo, dudical26, bigric09, just remember - we don't delete these items to be censors. We delete them because we'd like to have an opportunity to resolve the problem. We can try to act as the middlemen between you and the vendor to help resolve the problem.
I'd hope you'd agree that it's a better way than just letting you get ripped off and posting a rant on the forum. When that happens, you lose your money, the vendor loses credibility, and it could all be avoided.

I agree with that for the most part. I was letting the OP know that that is probably why his post was deleted.... due to him not contacting a MOD first and letting them try to resolve the issue.

Personally, id hope that before someone starts an "X" vendor screwed me over type thread, they'd seek a fix with the vendor directly thru phone, email or PM to resolve the issue before blasting them on the boards. I know this doesnt always happen which im sure is why you guys have implemented the follow these instructions type process. But, the last sentence in your post i dont really agree with, but i dont think you meant it how you wrote it. If i am in a transaction with a vendor, and i try to resolve the issue and cant, ultimately if im not happy and its the vendors fault, the vendor deserves a negative complaint posted and others should be informed. Again, i dont think you meant it exactly how it reads though. I think you are missing an "or" in there or something. Other then that, i completely agree with what you said, and the idea about the mods getting involved first. Afterall, most issues are miscommunication.

This is not about making a show out of anything spt. I don't waste my time with stuff like this unless the situation is just totally unacceptable. I did respond to all of Charlses' emails. I also explained to him that I had already tried the remedies recommended by him and pm'd him that also. I even tried what he suggested again today and got the same response. So you know I did talk with Charlse and the vendor prior to posting. I also just stated the facts as they occured. So what exactly is the rule I violated? You know that my complaint was valid there is no question about it.

I did finally get a call back from a rude individual from the company who ended up just hanging up on me when I requested an email stating that the order had been canceled and that my money would be promptly refunded. I got a flat refusal and was told I could just check on their site and see that the order was canceled but they would not discuss the timely return of my money or send me any timeline for receiving my rufund, click hangup. They know that there is no one for me to call or complain to for a remedy because there is no real phone # to the vendor available, only a front company that will forward a complaint to the company. That says a lot right there.

You are protecting and shielding a shady vendor. There was nothing in my post that would nesessitate it being deleted. Just the fact that I have spent so much time having to deal with this company and you about something so simple says it all. no one should have to have a mediator over an issue as simple as this.

MOJO, i agree with that, but it sounds like to me you are one of the few that actually go thru the process, so many post first then try to fix it later which is why this process is in place. I'd have to say you seem like you did all you could and talked to the appropriate people on the site.

I havent seen your thread but it sounds a whole lot like Lan@#Sh*p

That easy to tell is it? Now your post will be deleted for posting a name similar to the vendor lol.

It's funny but I told the individual from the company that I was in contact with Charlse from this forum and that I was posting the way this problem was being handled. A few minutes after the thread was deleted.

That's great but to be honest, I didn't know you already talked to Charles until you made this thread. You also did not mention you already talked with Charles in your original thread so how was I suppose to know that you already talked with Charles?

See this where I think you are missing the point. Your thread got removed because it wasn't stated that you already went through our process. So the reason why your thread was removed was due to the fact that there wasn't any sign telling us you went through the negative review process.

If you had just replied to my first pm and said " hey, I already went through Charles already and nothing got resolved", then I would have put the thread back up and we wouldn't be going through this.

Anyways the whole point of this process is not to protect vendors, it's really to help both parties resolve an issue. Situations don't get helped if the end customer doesn't get his product and the vendor gets bad mouthed. No one wins at that point. Countless times we see issues that arise from miscommunication between both parties and isn't entirely the vendor's fault or the customers. It wouldn't be fair to bad mouth a vendor when some of the blame should be placed on the customer as well. Not everyone likes to blame themselves so again this is another way to make sure the "full picture" is understood.

As for this situation, I will confirm with Charles to make sure we tried everything we could to help you and lancershop resolve the issue. If it hasn't been resolved then I will put back the thread.

Alright I just confirmed with Charles that you pm'd us about the info late yesterday. We started working on this for you today, so when did Charles give you the OK to post the negative review? There wasn't even enough time to start working on this to get this resolved for you (open a dialog). It's definitely going to make it harder to get anything resolved now when you bad mouth the vendor before we could get started on this.

So basically to answer your question now about why you thread got removed, you didn't follow the directions that was placed as a sticky. All you did was pm Charles and followed his initial suggestions and decided to post thread up anyways, which is against the rule stated in the sticky. There wasn't enough time verify your complaint.

I'm going to give LancerShop a call to make sure you will in fact receive a refund. But to be honest the way you handled this entire thing is proving to me that our system is a good one and should stay in place. Please PM me if you would like to discuss this further.
