I saw this when it was posted, and was about to reply enthusiastically, when I realized that I think it had been suggested before. I don't remember when or why it didn't happen. Personally, I'd love it. But I can't for the life of me remember the history of the previous suggestion. Anywho, if it works out, great. If it doesn't, it's no big deal anyway.

I agree. There are so many kits and parts and pieces for the Evo that don't necessarily match-up. This would be a great way for ppl to post how they made unmatched pieces and kits work so others won't have to buy new parts to make things work. Planning is great but doesn't always work out as planned and these situations arise.

Well...nothing's stopping them now.

Where should it be located? As a subforum? Evo or Lancer?

So sick of subforums. IMO it should be a general forum for fabrication and part building. If the discussion is heavily tech related then it would belong in the tech forum for the specific car, not the fabrication forum. But that's just me.

Problem with that is main forums take up room, which we have little of. Also, I do not predict it being highly active.

People went on and on about how we need a NOS section and how popular it would be. Its dead, and I think we are just going to merge it in with alchy and water injection

I'm not saying I told you so (in a nasty way) or anything, but I did (in a pleasant way ). I think this would be similarly inactive, which is why it should be a general "accent" forum rather than a model specific subforum. If it's done as a tester forum for a few months, if we monitor activity and see that it's low and/or frequently off topic, then we can just srap it. Yeah, it's a pain in the ***, but moving and mass moving ain't so bad. That being said, I personally would love to read about custom part builds, welding and fabrication, but I also don't see a necessary need for a separate forum.

Why don't you add it to the OT forum? seems like since it is not car specific it would fit best there, the photo and gaming forums are there

people wanted people with nos to post in the nos thread, they didn't want it for themselves

as with any advanced topic forum there will be little participation, most people on here don't know how to weld in the first place, let alone get down with custom parts fabrication. If it's a subforum in OT at least it won't be hard to moderate with little to no activity. and then it's there if someone wants to post.

I agree on the nos subforum being combined, it fits right along with your charge cooling forum, and that one isn't all that popular either if I'm not mistaken.

Im a welder fabricator..Thats what i do for a living..I used to post alot on the Hondatech fab forums, and many found me to be very helpful..I quit posting there due to too many, ignorant folks there..But, i think that if we had one kinda like the tuning forums..Many of the shops fabbers, welders may post and help some of the guys out when they are working on DIY kinda projects, and a place for future shops, fabbers to show pics, and ideas of whats to come in the future..Justin
