Comment on the general forums attitude from a non Evo owner.
I see a lot of garbage going on in these forums and it's not right.
I see people ****ting on vendors whom they've likely never used just to go along with the supposed crowd.
And I see impatient children *****ing and moaning about a vendor who took a couple extra days to ship something or accidentally messed up an order somehow. I guess there are some spoiled children around here who expect hand outs and everything in their life to be perfect. Sorry but that's not how the world works.
You can pay all the money in the world for something and it will still have problems, and even the best run companies out there will screw up an order occasionally or will not be able to return every phone call inquiry in a timely manner.
I'm a member of many car forums and the attitude from most tuners and people who mod their cars would be a big debt of gratitude to see vendors actually participate in forum discussions at the level they do here and offer discounts and special promotions to us first. Most boards aren't like this one - vendors don't have their own forums and generally don't care to participate in discussions.
You should be thankful you have that level of participation from them, but instead some of you attack them and talk a lot of trash and go off on them without giving them a chance to respond. It's also funny when that happens and the vendor finally gets in contact with them and "oh" everything gets resolved and the person who was flying off the handle looks dumb for being an impatient *****.
Realize that vendors can't always respond every few minutes to a thread like you can while you sit at home on summer vacation from high school. Sometimes they might not respond for a couple days. Does that mean they're avoiding you or the thread? Probably not. They're probably too busy working on something for YOUR car, the Evo8 or helping someone else.
So relax, cut them a break, and wait for things to get worked out. And if you're not part of a discussion between a vendor and a client, don't stick your posts into it too just to talk trash about a vendor for no reason.
And remember this - vendors aren't in business to screw people and make a bad name for themselves - you can't make any money doing that - they're here to provide you with a quality product or service that will create more business for them. They exist to make money, and the best way to make money is to make your customers happy and meet or exceed their needs. So in general it's probably a smart idea to be more mature and patient with them, especially when they're kind enough to participate in your forum discussions, because chances are they're legit businesses and they're going to do their best to make you happy.
End rant.

I read it dude. I've had the same rant at a few individuals here. What ends up happening is that the vendor loses confidence in a certain product or website and pulls it. We all lose out.

And I've said this before but I'll say it again too...if you have any questions or complaints about how a staff member is doing his or her job, please PM the person first. If you cannot resolve it then feel free to appeal to a higher/different staff member. Just remember we're here to keep the site organized and help members.

i read it, and i agree... partly.
i agree there is A LOT of whining and *****ing that goes against our vendors, and way too many people are impatient.
damn american nature, and it needs to change.
however, we have some that praise our vendors, and respect "the little man" instead of always trying to save a couple dimes buying from some shady corporate giant. take ozrallyguy for instance. great seller, great customer interaction. i'm waiting for my new job to come through, so i can order a bunch of stuff from him.

Oh that does remind me. The one thing is we can't just delete these posts and pretend like they never happened. As a medium for sales we're responsible for helping facilitate both businesses finding consumers and consumers finding businesses. My main problem with most of the complaints is that they're posted before any resolution is reached. I understand every experience with a vendor won't be pleasant, but it seems people are far less likely to post their good experiences.
Well, not to label everyone...but 80% of the import shops/parts vendors have zero customer service. Their phone manners are usually terrible, they don't know how to sell someone a product. Thats why I made a call to several vendors not on this board and purchased 2000 dollars worth of merchandise from a suprastore.com. I got better service and advice from them than anywhere else. I also payed hundreds...yes HUNDREDS less! Now, Buschur, Z1 and DRC seem to have treated me fairly, but suprastore.com beat ALL of their prices! Several vendors wouldn't even answer the phones and gave very frank, short responses! Not to mention I had a problem with my new debit card, suprastore.com called me back instantly to try to get the situation resolved. It took 3 days, but they were on the ball!
I don't think this thread was intended to single anyone out, and I definitely won't let it become a thread on everyone's personal experiences with vendors. If future posters feel the need to do that, please do so in a new thread.
I have the same take on the subject.....
IMO
most of the guys that now own the evo never owned a 1g or 2g turbo before. and are just going with whatever vendor they can find. and not the tried and true vendors that the dsm guys have been loyal to.
Alot of the vendors for the evo are nwe to the whole dsm/turbo mitsus and have not been proven in the DSM scene and hence most of them are going to be susceptible to this kind or ridicule.
Everyone needs to start and maintain relationships on the board in the scene and with their vendors. and stop the baby *****n about every damn thing.

Hobie - no problem with you or what you did, my man.
I guess I understood Site Feedback and Suggestions to be just that - suggestions and feedback for the people who run the site regarding the site.
My post was to the other posters in the Evo forums specifically, but it's all good, stick it where you want, it's your forum bro.

I agree. We want vendors to come back and give us information on their products.
