Making this site more Friendly to Newbies

How about not making this site so strict that you cant even list parts for sale that people need or want. I see that the moderators stay on top of all the posts so they can detect if it is a bad thread. I have owned my evo for almost 2 years now, and if it wasnt for the classified section I wouldn't have some the parts I do on my car. Think about how many people have good parts that they can't list.

maybe if your post count isn't high enough, they base it on Pesonal Sales Rating...

This site is friendly to all......I know why you're posting this: you don't agree with our 50 post rule. That's fine, but this issue has been discussed repeatedly in this very forum and we're not about to revise the 50 post rule downward. In fact, I keep lobbying to get it to 100 posts:

Ok, so why make it so hard for people that have been members for a certain length. Just because I dont post all the time means I can't list parts for sale. Like I said the moderators are all over these threads in seconds.

Check the link in my reply above for an answer. Short of it is we reserve the ability to post WTB/FS ads for members who contribute to our community. This rule came into force to make it tougher for scammers to do business here. See our "Scam Alert" thread in the forum above for an idea of what we are attempting to stop.

So that makes it right. This is not an open forum then.

Why is it that when I do post on forums that count to your total post count it goes up then down.

I'm not going to argue with you over this: Our rules are there for all to see, and we hold every member accountable to the same standards. Thanks.

I don't see any problem at all with the 50 post rule. I think it's a good idea. As far as your posts going up then down, if you post in a thread and it gets moved to another section where posts don't count, well yours don't count.

I would second an increase to 100. 100 posts is not hard to get especially with the amount of BS picture threads on here (I like them, just saying they are not technically advanced). If you have been a member for such a long time but have no posts, to me that sounds like someone that does not contribute the knowledge they have accumulated over their membership time or an inactive account...

I am working on this issue right now. This place has become like craigslist lately, with people signing up spamming to 50 or 51 posts, then not making another post outside of the marketplace. I would urge all of our members to reconsider a transaction with a relatively new member with 50 or so posts: we've had our share of issues with scammers. That's not to say all such people are out to scam you; I'd just urge caution in your dealings.

as today i was okay with the 50 post rule, and like others say to get it to over 100 posts.. but someone made me change my mind by deleting my posts, i dont want to say names but who cares. well i got to this site on May 2008, when i got my lancer i wanted to know things about this car, at the time i didnt have internet connection so i barely got on or made posts, or threads. recently i got an internet connection so now i decided to get more active in this forum but someone didnt liked that i posted my toughts or answers for questions and that person decided to delete my posts.
so now i feel like angry cause all the time i wasted here. that really sucks you know.

I deleted your posts for violations of our site rules. I also discussed this in private with you and deleted your first post about this to keep it private, but you insisted upon posting again to take it to the public arena. Here we are. You did not receive an infraction or warning. What's next?
