you have no idea on how much the 50 post rule has cut down on spamming and scamming within the forums.

Thanks for creating this thread. I was wondering the same thing. I know that the # of posts may not matter to a number of people, but it helps me find out how much I've been contributing in the forums....So in other words, keeping the posts count is a good thing.

Posts in some forums do not count towards your post count. For example, Off Topic and regional forums do not count. Any automotive or technical forum will count. On topic forums are closely watched by the staff, thereby ensuring that the vast majority of posts in these areas are garbage posts. The system was set up this way to give a quick indicator of contribution. Posts that benefit the community are counted for this reason, those in forums that are more "fluff" than filler are not.
Sorry just had to point it out!!!
Im guessing this one won't count!

The only problem I have, is that it is hard to find your place from post to post, when post's don't count, because if you search, you last post no longer pops up. So if you post in a few different threads in one of the forums that doesn't keep count, unless you write them down, you won't be able to pick up where you left off unless you have notification by email, which is more hassle than it's worth. It would seem that this encourages the user to post less.

Or is this just an issue strictly related to search that is being worked on?
