Suggestion: Requiring prices on FS threads?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if we could require a price listed (even if just $1 or $1k) so that the buyers have an idea of what the seller wants. I think most people already know what they want for their items, so I don't get the whole idea of asking for offers. This would make it so much more straight forward and fast for transactions. Just a small suggestion, thanks guys!

EDIT: Just to verify, this would only apply in the following situation:

-Private FS/FT Forums for Evo X / Evo 1-9 / Lancer 08+ / Lancer
-Private Regional FS/FT Forums
-Requires a seller to list a price for their product
-Vendors and all vendor forums would be excluded from the requirement as they have their own pricing agenda.

I agree, it's really NOT an auction...I hate it when buyers will say "highest offer" or "the bidding starts now!" This isn't ebay

It never bothers me in the private areas, i hate it in the vendor areas. When 8 vendors advertise the same thing and all claim to have the lowest price that they can't post, 7 of them are full of ****. It gets annoying

I know, it bothers me that I gotta PM all 7 but I think they are not able to list the prices because of they're giving us a deal that they're not really allowed to (ie, can't sell below certain prices because the original manufacturing company prohibits them from doing so) This is the only reason why I keep on PMing 7 people lol

I absolutely agree with you, but I am not comfy with the Vendor "PM for price" thing. I understand that they have to do it in some cases, doesn't mean I have to like it. I feel that EVERY FS ad should have a price listed. I would suggest members just avoid ads without a price. Lack of interest will get them to change the ad and hopefully add more info. Just my opinion here.

I get what you are saying Alvin. But, There are some things that I have that I dont know what they are worth. I dont want to list a price and say $XXX when its worth more, ya know? But at the same time... I hate having to PM someone for their prices. I wouldn't mind either way I suppose.

I agree with this and I do (whether unconsciously or not) tends to not response or even PM sellers who did not list price. It just seems like they're not serious about selling or just trying to bid up the price. The Vendors, I guess I don' have a say in it because they pay for the membership and have a legtimate reason. I do appreciate every vendor who do list their pricing though.

I think you got a good point there and obviously this is understandable. I just think the members who try to get higher pricing by getting people to bid or just don't want to post a price at all and get buyers to fall into traps is the ones that gets me going ya know?

I agree with Sasd as far as if the person doesn't list a price and you're not comfortable with that, move on. As for sellers not wanting to underprice their goods, it's pretty easy to avoid that with some simple research. Find out what it's selling for new, then discount it to make up for it being used, and go from there. If your price is too high, the potential buyers will let you know and you can adjust accordingly.

Sounds good. I've been doing just that I guess there was some hope in my that requiring prices will work well like when I was on my350z.com. It's not a huge concern but rather just a suggestion. If you guys ever consider it that would be awesome. If not, no biggie Thanks guys!
