Lets make a 100 post minimun for the advanced section ?

Well i have not been on these forums lately and it seems that these advanced sections are turning into noobs asking dumb *** questions and advice. Granted we all gotta strat somewhere but lets keep them in the general topic forum until they get a good understanding of the evo . Why would evoM create a section only to have it flooded with noobs is beyond me

100 minimum post sounds fair and would eliminate all the noobs flooding this section ? Anyone with me on this

If you see a post/thread in advanced that doesn't belong, please use the report post button so we can get it out of there. We don't want those areas littered with "normal" questions. I'm against a minimum post requirement for the area, because we have numerous members with excellent technical information but a low post count.

I agree with otter, he is wise in the ways of EvoM. Topic closed.

Now, on to a different subject.....a 100 post minimum for the FS areas. I've been pushing this for a while. Feedback in this (hijacked) thread would be appreciated.

Im down for the 100 post for the for sale section.. Too many scammers in there just popping up with 50 posts really quick and then all these reports of the scams happening is ridiculous.. Best rule that could be made there

Thanks, I've been pushing this for a while and I think it will help to keep the scammers out of here. I don't want to prohibit people from selling, but I'd like to protect our members as much as possible while putting up roadblocks to would-be scammers.

100 post FS seems like a good idea.

I am no longer opposed to a 100 post Min for a certain section but only because I am over that many posts.

To latch onto this minimum post idea and throw out another, I had an idea for a "User Reply Quality Report Rating", say 1-5 star. Not for a topic though, for the individual reply, so individuals could be rated on the usefulness of their replies, but I see to much of a chance for problems with that idea, i.e., "I disagree with what he said, he gets a one and screw his quality score" type stuff.

Maybe if only the original topic starter could judge the reply as useful would this work. Then useful replies could be tallied and averaged so we could get an idea as to who we are dealing with when someone replies. Mods would not be immune from this rating so it would be a sort of grade for them as well I suppose. Probably killed it right there.

I give this reply a quality score of about 3 as I am self depreciating like that.

I agree. Though, that doesn't stop them from PMing the person and going through Ebay or straight through PayPal. I think an idea like you need to be a member with 100 posts to even see/post on the for sale section. That will cut down on scammers I think.

I've suggested this and it's something I'm going to push for.

100 post minimum is a good idea, but it might bring post whoring to a whole new level.

I think you should focus more on catching scammers.

Recently there was a guy on here selling fake cosworth cams, and it was kinda obvious they were his stock cams as he used the same pictures from his Stock part out thread and cosworth cams thread.

He has three negative feedbacks out of four and yet he can still post in F/S???

How about a maximum of negative feedbacks.

edited lol

i think a posting minimum is a bad idea because i believe it would lead to post whoring. i view the marketplace and i could use the pm option if i wanted to. i know i have less than 50 posts. maybe we could filter posting on the marketplace to sell by having a moderator review the post before it goes up and ensure-
-there are multiple pictures of the actual product
-the person has made posts on the forum before and the posts they have made are credible
-if they are a business they are reputable
there could be a rating system for people that purchase from someone like a 1-5 system
this would give potential buyers on the forum confidence that the site administration has done a background check on the dealer.
i think having a restriction on who can post on the marketplace not only keeps scammers out but legitimate buyers as well. there isnt much ways a buyer can scam, most sellers wait to recieve payment to ship their products.
