can we modifiy the main titles in our threads?
Mainly it is a limitation of vBulletin's user groups. In order to allow members to edit their titles, we'd have to make everyone a moderator w/ a very limited permissions set. I do believe that vB allows the OP to edit their thread title for a limited time period (i.e. within 90 seconds), but there's no way to make it permanent.
Ironically, I think there are options that would allow users to move, close, or delete their own thread - but not edit the title.
And no, we won't give those to you, either.
Thanks WSB ! Shame all mods can't be as gracious with their time.
Sasd...I gotta say man, I have no idea why you quoted youreself as it was in no way an answer to the question I had. What's the point in coming off like that... just don't answer at all.
It is a harmless enough Q.

Umm...I had already answered the question, I didn't see a need to type out an identical reply, so I quoted myself to save time. It didn't answer the question?
He asked the reason why we can't. Not what we should do instead. But you're a busy guy, probably read too fast
We have no plans to allow users to change their own thread titles/details because we currently don't see the need based upon the volume of requests we get. Requests are now easily handled by Staff and amount to a very small amount of our workload. If we were being swamped by requests, we may have considered this a bit further.
