What if someone wants to get a group buy going but the seller isnt a vendor on this site?

There is not an affiliation with this vendor and this product isnt sold by any other vendors on this site.

Is there any harm in organizing and posting a group buy?

im unclear since group buys are directly addressed in the usage policy.

There shouldn't be a problem getting a group buy together, so long as the starter isn't profiting from the group buy itself in any way, or he/she isn't from the company trying to sell it's own products on here.

Only time you need to be a registered vendor is when the seller is continually selling products for profit, which is totally not abiding by the rules.

So go on ahead and get it started.
