Vendor WTB section
I have always had this in the back of my head but was wondering if it could come to fruition.
Would it be possible or plausible to have an area where you posted what part(s) you wanted specifically to vendors and they would post or contact you with prices shipped. I find myself pm'ing a lot of vendors to get the best price but it would be easier if you just posted what you wanted and they sort of bid on your business.
Just an idea...

I usually post these types of things in the private WTB and vendors do usually respond
I am not opposed to this idea though...makes it easier for the members and that is most important

I have two primary concerns with that kind of area, though I can appreciate its benefit to the users:
- Becomes yet another area where some vendors decide to fight with one another
- Becomes an area where non-vendors start looking and try to drum up business via PM.

I am glad to see all the support and appreciate the mods willingness to consider it. Hopefully the admins and mods can find a solution to benefit vendors and buyers.
I posted about this a couple months ago.
I can see why the mods wouldn't want to deal with it. Maybe make it a one post only forum? All responses should be made via PM?
Personally I need some brake products and I really don't want to have to contact 10 vendors hoping to get what I need.

The mods have been talking about it and the decision is an emphatic no. Too many problems with vendors fighting, fanboys getting involved and fighting, and non-vendors stealing business. We have a hard enough time keeping that stuff under control without creating a section that would encourage it.
I very respectfully disagree with the reasoning for not creating this sub-forum or may be I am just disagreeing with the outcome. If there is a zero post maximum, and only a thread starting post is allowed, I see no reason for Bendors to start any more crap than usual. If a vendor wants to participate, all he/she needs to do is pm the member who is asking for the part. Also, you guys can make it where members can only start a thread, and not be allowed to read any of these threads, including the thread and title that the member started. If a member has vendor or moderator status, then that member will have full access to read and pm at will, but will not be allowed to post, only pm. That would eliminate non-vendors from undercutting the vendors. I am currently looking for a special order part and am not willing nor have the time to pm 20 vendors or hope that the vendor selling the item I need, sees my thread in WTB. The vendors are more than likely going to loose out from me this time because I would rather just google the part and find the lowest price on the web. I have always supported our vendors(well, most of them
) and will continue to do so. I am thinking that this might be more of a vendor decision to keep costs from falling and having to compete with blowout prices from other vendors. But, who knows, I am often wrong. Okay, thanks.
