a lot of spamming.

being a long time user on here i have seen some good/bad posts....but it seems in the last few months there has been a lot of "spam to 50 posts" going on (epically posting on threads that are YEARS old). I dont know what the mods are doing about it though. just wanted to say ive seen a lot of it going on and wanted to vent a little...cause i dont want to see Evom become full of trolls and scammers and generally full of complete BS.

A suggestion i do have is make the 1st 25-35 (maybe even 50) posts have authorization from a mod or make a separate team of people that can view all new posts and determine is the post has a legitimate meaning*. that way the admins/mods can see what is being posted before it is posted. This would deter spammers, scammers, trolls, etc. from making accounts and just posting useless information.

* you could even approach long time/frequent users of the site to help moderate that aspect of the forums. Cause I know for myself and other "veteran" users want to preserve what we have and keep it all useful information that can help the legitimate users.

just an idea.

We delete them as we see them and deal with the users appropriately. As for your suggestion, unfortunately, the sheer number of new users we get to the forum each day makes moderating each post very unpractical. We do our best, however, to catch these people and stop them before they become a huge annoyance to the other users.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
We do ask members to volunteer when they see something out of line via the "report a post function". Please use the if you see someone spamming or breaking any site rule.

Guess I'll vent also...
In my situation my primary concern for posting is to acquire/tune parts.
Now HOW can I post up with any pertinent information if I am not allowed to post in the for sale/ wanted section TO PURCHASE AND ASK ?'S ???? (I have managed to achieve an itrader rating of 4 already and have spent about $750 in these purchases....)

SOME MAY HAVE TO DO THE SPAM AS THEY HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO SAY to get to 50...

IT SHOULD BE A 3 month probationary period to keep the mods from babysitting the newbies--- then let 'em post up!

ALSO--- where is the "STREET RACE/KILLS" section
?
We are big boys and girls here and it is very entertaining reading!

You have to ask the question... "Why IS there spamming posts????"
In my situation it is to comply with the posting rules.

Maybe some kiddies think it's fun but they go away...

BTW this is my 2nd time registering here and my 2nd evo... Wish I could remember my first id...

You apparently have not read our rules and FAQ's, as linked in my sig. Absolutely no discussions of street racing. Ever. Period.

May I ask why you choose to configure your forums this way?
I am respectful of your wish but if you will share your reasoning I would be very appreciative! (I learn stuff from asking questions and you have a different point of view)

Thanks

And btw--- yes I have.... (I DO NOT POST kill/race etc. stories...)

Street racing is illegal in most jurisdictions that I am aware of. EvoM.net does not condone illegal activities. Since this website is primarily automotive based, we choose to focus on street racing with our 'zero tolerance' policy. Of course we also do not permit the discussion of almost any other illegal activity from the misuse of a CARFAX account to the illegal downloading of copyrighted material, as examples.

If you think spamming is going on then don't hesitate to report it.
It is our job. You will remain anonymous and it keeps the site running smoothly.
Thanks- GDS
