It's all off topic, and it's posted in the off-topic forum, where the rules state it should be.

Some people here like to be part of this group. Look at all the member meets and such that go on. These aren't just users, they're all real people looking to learn and/or have a good time.

I've learned things from this forum that I couldn't learn on my own. It serves its purpose, and since it brings in just enough cash to keep it running, I'd say that people *****ing that this is a "for profit" organization need to stuff it.

If you think you can do better, then please do so. I'd be interested to see it. The bottom line is people who complain just want attention because mommy never tucked you in at night when you were a kid.

It's cool to voice your opinions, but jesus, after the 3,000th time, nobody cares anymore. Warnings are issued to protect members who follow the rules, which obviously, some people aren't doing.

Bottom line: don't like it, leave. You didn't pay to come here, we certainly won't pay you to take off and leave.

Mods, you do a good job. I've had posts moved and what not, but I'm fine with it. It's the mods' job. They don't get paid. If Mark is going to make the 50 new forums everyone wants, he'll need more mods, which means more moved posts, and potentially more warnings.

I'm ranting right along. Just get lost if you don't like it here.

I agree with you. The problem is, whenever you start to clean up some of the crap that is out there it starts a thread in Site Suggestions and feedback that we deleted peoples thread and they want us to leave their stuff alone. You really can't win.
I could delete some much stuff from Evo Tech forums and would love to do it. It is very time consuming to go through all the thread and delete the individual nonsense posts.

Yeah, it works that way alot. Hobie will ban/delete/warn you and you'll have no clue why until you throw another post out here and THEN he'll answer. He'll also ask why you didn't PM him. Gee, we're supposed to have enough respect to PM him but he doesn't have to give anyone the respect of letting them know WHY they were banned. Funny ain't it? Overall, the mods do a great job. It's the lazy asses like Hobie that give them the bad name.

Of course someone gets paid. A friend of mine hosts a rather large Ford forum, and I know how much things like VBB registration and hosting cost. They aren't free. I have no idea how much KK charges, but I would imagine his profit from this site is very small, if at all. Go and setup your own site and report here how much it cost. Now, if you're lucky and it becomes popular, report back in 6 months with how much your bandwidth charge went up.

*Clears throat* I believe that Andrew (Hobiekopek) is one of the biggest assets that evolutionm.net has. He is always on top of things and he is always trying his best to take care of the forums. The process of warnings goes something like this:

- Break a rule > Get warned > If you wanna dispute the warning, PM the moderator that warned you > If the dispute isnt resolved... take it to a higher authority > If the dispute is still not resolved then your best bet is to be careful next time.

There is no need to go out and make a public spectacle because a moderator warned you...

As for the comments on moderators getting paid... we dont get paid to do our duties on this site. We do this because we are devoted to it and enjoy doing what we do. The money that comes in from vendor fees and advertising goes straight to Mark and is re-invested in the site (Getting a better server, re-designing the site, and to pay for the domain names and hosting). No one is making money off of this site, it's only in existance to act as a forum in which people share ideas and help each other out.

Now can't we all get together and sing Kumbaya...

clearly if there was a post/thread that offended someone it would be deleted. why would they keep it there just to **** off/offend more people?

if someone got shot with a gun on the streets, do you think the cops would keep it there so it could harm someone else? no! quit acting like the poor neglected stop- child MP5

Actually you're one of only (if I remember correctly) 3 people I've banned in my year and a half of moderating. I also think you'll find that I issue far more unofficial warnings than real warnings. Please change your user name or register with a new one. I don't think having an ethnic slur in your user name is to your benefit.

If you don't take the initiative to PM me, I'm going to go on the assumption that it can't possibly bother you that much. You're still here now, aren't you? I'm also failling to see why exactly I should be respecting you every part of your information was basically a stab at one of our members...though it is true he was not in the best of standing. If you can't respect other members, I will not respect you. You seem to fit your self-proclaimed occupation of "Being a gigantic pain in the ***" quite well. Again, if you'd like to plead your case I'm all ears (or eyes as it were).

Okay, so you could be onto something. Maybe the mods need to quote the post the offender makes when they send a warning. This way, a PM record of the offense in maintained, and we won;t have the "well, what did I do" problem anymore.

Regardless, most of you know damn well what you've done wrong. You just don't want to admit it and accept your fate.

Honestly guys, if you dont like whats going on, dont post here. When push comes to shove, its Marks site and Mark and his selected admins can do whatever they want. They dont need to justify it to anyone.

This whole thing reminds me of teenagers rebeling against authority. Im mean come on guys, dont we have anything better to do then whine on a message board? I have nothing against the people that have posted in this thread, but to me the cause your fighting for seems shallow and pointless. If you really dont like the site, create your own. Its that simple....

Exactly! I have yet to have a mod show me what post they were talking about just the lazy key insulting a member.
