EvoM needs to do something about the advertisers that are trying to infect peoples computers. Not cool. Get rid of them before they destroy this website.

the fake antiviruses actually are randomly assigned a 3 letter .exe name.

But it's usually something very obnoxious, like oxl.exe or eed.exe

basically, look for the things that seem fishy and thats usually it.

Hey guys,

We are looking at this closely and so far have found nothing. Other IB communities are not seeing these warning which reduces the likely hood it is advertising rotating in/out since many sites have the same ad features. Thanks.

Bob..

So I ran into the Trojan issue for the first time last night. Microsoft Security Essentails caught it and cleaned my machine.

I didn't get it from the site directly. I was google'n some info about my car and a thread came up in my google search. I clicked on the link to the thread and wham, viruses were detected. I have never had this happen when logged in and searching the forums.

Hope this helps.

Same thing happened here. I just found this thread or I wouldve posted earlier.

I tried all the stuff listed and nothing worked. I ended up wiping my laptop clean and reinstalling everything. PITA

I got the HTML/scrInject.B.Gen virus when I did a search for evolutionm in windows explorer 9.
It was the first link on the list but ESET squashed that pretty quick. haha
Thank god for PCs and Micro$oft!

Another site I visit was just shut down for the same reason, there seems to be a wave of hacking attacks on high profile targets, HSBC, BEST BUY, Playstation Network, be on your guard I was hacked to and sent everyone on my email list spam and virus’s. Scary stuff.

Ya some kind of redirect virus that will put malware on your computer if you have no antivirus.
Which is scary to think some people dont have any anitvirus.
I had my credit card info stolen twice and I'm **** about internet security. Though could've been from anywhere really.

I have gotten that same thing twice in the last few mins. ESET got it for me too, but still.
