Who else is sick of the disclaimer
people add to the bottom of their posts. There is no way it is going to do a bit of good to protect against legal action should the corporate attorney's decide to go after you. All they do is take up bandwidth and make eyesores out of a lot of posts. DOWN WITH DISCLAIMERS!!!
I agree
Hey, if you are concerned about what someone might read on here, just don't use your real name. Isn't that anonymous enough?

Even a username won't help anonymity if they are REALLY serious about dodging a legal claim. Those disclaimers are garbage, like most advice about how to beat a ticket by doing X, Y and Z because "Jimmy's cousin's friend did it and it worked".

It was funny the first few times I saw it and I think the person who came up with it deserves credit for making a funny joke, but it got old VERY fast.
I seriously thought it was for laughs the first time I saw it.
Now it's even more funny that people are taking it seriously and think that it will defend them from a voided warranty.
It would be VERY difficult to give this disclaimer any kind of legal weight that can be thrown around.
I think people should lose the disclaimer -- waste of bandwidth.

It's not really eating that much bandwidth. Text doesn't exactly weigh a whole lot in the scheme of things. Now if everyone on the board started to do it, we'd have a problem.
I agree that they need to go, however. I'm sick of reading posts where the sig is 14 times longer than the actual post.

LDB, it's a joke. They could just leave their sigs blank or put in links to their favorite beer maker's website.
Yes, like SG said text takes up very little space and time according to Mark.
Yes it's too long, but right now vB cannot tell the difference between 4 lines of straight text and 4 lines with carriage returns at the ends of each one.
I'm just failing to see what the issue really is.
