New member marketplace exception for car sales

I understand and am thoroughly in favor of the 15/15 threshold for new members posting in the marketplace, but I wonder if there could be an exception for the car sales forum.

The point (I'm assuming) of the the minimums is to help prevent people from getting scammed when ordering items needing shipping. It seems to me that this is superfluous since no one is shipping a car, and any knowledgeable buyer (which I'm sure is the only type on here) wouldn't buy a POS car.

I axe because I'm interested in an Evo and would like all avenues to try and sell my current car ASAP. I'm sure this could be argued either way, and it's not the end of the world if no one likes my suggestion, but it's just a thought.

My current car was purchased through this site and shipped to me. I cannot see making an exception for new members, because I would be very wary of buying or selling anything to someone with absolutely no credit or history on this site. If you see a car, that you wish to buy, you can always send the seller a PM. If he/she responds, great. If not, bad luck. I cannot see why you even need to post anything in the F/S sections.

And now the threshold is up to 50 posts. I've created a username, a long time ago, read the forums, found useful info, etc... Haven't posted much, and now that it's time to sell the car, I can't. Oh well. Maybe someday I'll have 50 posts.

15 posts is nothing. If you can contribute substantive posts, you should be able to take care of that requirement in a few days. Note - do not post *****, you will only get your posts deleted and an infraction will be issued.

You had the benefit of buying your car from a man that once killed two mountain lions by giving them a dirty look. That's a man everyone can trust.

I don't know where you are getting that information from, but it is an old link. The requirement is 15/15.
