Regional forum split?

I'm not sure if this comes up as much in the Midwest forums (16 states), but in the Northeast, there are 11 states. All the others have 4 or 6. It just seems like so many threads are for NY & NJ people, I'm wondering if there would be a way to split the NE forum up.

I'm not really sure exactly which states would go where, possibly make the Northeast forum for NY, NJ, VT, NH, ME, CT, RI, MA and split up Midwest into two, one of which contains OH, PA, & WV. Or maybe just give NY and NJ their own forum because they're so densely populated.

What does everyone think?

It's fine the way its set up now. I don't see that big of a problem. Each state are placed in their own region because, well, thats where its exactly located on the US. The majority of the posts in the NE forum contain NY/NJ threads doesn't warrant a new forum just because their densely populated. If they are, then so be it. Same goes for the West Region, CA seems to take up most of the space within that forum. Like I said, were fine.

Some of the other forums I'm on have a split the regions to the point where it gets harder to find events, particularly if you're near the edge. For example, on one, Indiana and Michigan are part of the midwest, but Ohio has 3 forums (Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland). For me to find nearby events, I have to look through 4 or 5 regional forums. It's easier to just wade through one. In the case of NY/NJ, well people from PA or CT may be interested in what they're doing, and would otherwise have to check 2 (or more) regionals to keep up.

Thus, my vote is to keep them as-is.

Instead of have like 11 in a group put a link in the of the regions for each state, so Regional > Northeast > Ohio > Blah.

South Region includes: AR, LA, MS, NM, OK, TX

We should just name South Region.......Texas Region, or better yet Houston Meets. All the posts are from Houston, TX in that region.

I'm just glad we're alone i guess.

I have sometimes wondered why the "midwest" forum covers three time zones. The midwest forums are usually pretty quiet, so it doesn't seem to matter.
